No support. These forums are deprecated, and I don't think any updates will be added to it.
Please don't use “I don't think they will bother implementing this” as a reason to dislike a suggestion unless you actually have reason to believe that the implementation work would be more effort than the suggestion is worth.

Anyway I still think this is a bad idea. The Suggestions subforum is not about counting votes.

Edit: Ayy, king of the page!

Bro you stole my comment
I originally said that

I support this because it will kill the “please be constructive” police which is a good thing because its an excuse to boost their ego

You can't stop me or a lot of people from not just saying “support.” Telling people to be constructive also doesn't contribute to the post, and could be considered spamming. Both sides are wrong but at least im not yelling at people for not being constructive

Welcome back to Dupe or Nupe, the gameshow I created 15 seconds ago. Our contestants today are: everyone on the Suggestions forum, the Scratch Team members, and you, the audience at home! I'm your host: FDREEEERF!!!

Our first round goes like this: I present a topic to you, and our contestants buzz in saying “Dupe” if they think it's a dupe, and “Nupe” if it's not. If the Scratch Team closes or merges the topic, the first one who buzzed in saying “Dupe” wins 1,000 points, everyone else who said dupe gets 100, and everyone who said “nupe” loses 500. If they don't or they chime in saying that it's not a duplicate, the first person who says “Nupe” wins 5,000 points, everyone else who said “nupe” wins 250, and everyone who said “nupe” loses 1,000.

So contestants, here is your first topic: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/401709
Now tell me, dupe or nupe? You have 6 hours to answer. Ready, go!

misteray has locked in their answer. If they're right they win the 1,000 points and anyone else after them gets 100. Get those answers in before it's too late!

Dupe(kinda, similar concept but could be considered a dupe)

I'm going to need some more confidence from you misteray; close only counts in horseshoes and hand-grenades and not this game. So, do you want to lock in your answer?

Please be constructive police? We are merely helping around the forums! Stop thinking we are big meanies who have nothing to do but make children cry.

Helping around the forums as in clogging up the post even more by asking people to be constructive. If they support it, they support it. There should be a reason if genuine criticism could be added. If nothing need be added, then it should be fine.

Ah, but the ST is unpredictable. They could close that one, close this one, merge this one with that one, or merge that one with this one. Either way that makes this a dupe. Now, would you like to say if it's Dupe! Or! Nupe!

ST on their way to ban people for discussing a MLP character because he shares a name with the unmoderated Chat Website then ban someone because someone reported them enough times for no reason then make an awesome new scratchlabs thing with the text things then decide that they want to not ban someone who actually broke the rules even though they were spam reported

classic st(Though paddle2see and za-chery are good)

ST isn't my favorite mod team but they aren't terrible or bad, they make good things but sometimes they can mess things up

No support. The purpose of the Suggestions forum are not to just vote on whether people support or not. People should support their opinions by stating a reason why.

Keep in mind that a topic in the Suggestions forum is a discussion, not a ballot box.

I made a topic about this. I wrote how this could happen (link of my topic is here: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/490816/)
I think that people can write their reason next to it, if the system is made. Also this system should only be used to tell Scratch Team which suggestion to look for, not why to make it. I support. If you want support my topic too.

Take 1 support from me

You can already say support/I like it and no support/I don't like it, so there isn't really a reason to implement this, and this will encourage pointless annoying ‘support lists’

You can just say support, but then everyone tells you to stop spamming irrelevant and meaningless posts.

“How dare you say you like this in a short and quick answer? I'm so mad at you right now, I'm gonna tell my forum helper friends that you aren't constructive”

That's all I hear when people say “ please be constructive” or “ don't complain about people wanting you to be constructive”

The people who say that are clogging up the posts even more than they want. ballot box would clear this up a bit because as long as votes are anonymous (st can see the usernames) People can't spam “be constructive” and clog up the post to people who just want to say support quickly.
