Dedicated scratch console?
First, this is just an idea (not a thing in prodution)
So I had a random thought,
why not make a gaming console that runs a modded version of scratch 2 (or 3)?
it would come with a keyboard and mouse (to code/play with)
and a special controller (complete with its own blocks!)
the console would cost about £50 and would come with extra tuturials for making games along with some demo projects
the system software would have a home menu where you could launch the scratch project maker, individual scratch projects downloaded from either a usb stick or, a version of the scratch website where the forums aren't there, a seperate app for forums and a app for the wiki
the controller would have would have about the same layout as a ps4/xbox one controller (with blocks for: (Left joystick X) (Left joystick Y) (Right joystick X) and (Right joystick Y) along with <button A/B/X/Y pressed?> if button A/B/X/Y pressed and <D-pad up/down/left/right pressed?> if button up/down/left/right pressed) with a yellow body/ red buttons layout.
the controller would also be sold sepperatly for about £25 and the blocks would be avalible for scratch 2
the console would be a OS for the raspberry pi (and would come as either a complete full build or the software would come with a controller)
it would be a good idea to breath new life into scratch in terms of the raspberry pi
for those that are unaware, the raspberry pi is a small computer that can run scratch 1.4 so it would be a good idea to release a new version of scratch onto it
don't ask why i shared this idea
