All the errors we have been witnessing in the last few weeks seem to be getting out out hand. My account just got struck with the 500 error, when trying to post on the topic about it. I, and lots of others, would be interested to know why Scratch is so unstable! Now, most of the answers will be “Hour of code!”. But surely that would not have such a big impact on the other users of Scratch? If it is as case of space, then would it be possible to kick of Scratch Resources, and use the extra space? (If that's possible). I'm getting rather annoyed of those errors mocking me. Some users, have mentioned something about corruption, are the servers old? I think that something must be done to get Scratch back to it's heath state. Since I joined I never witnessed an error or maintenance page. (only with the 2.0 switch).

The servers are not old, as in early 2013 Dell donated some really nice servers to the ST.

Yeah - sorry for the inconvenience! We aren't very happy with our site stability at the moment. There have been a number of changes to the hardware and software to try and address those issues, as well as to address the growth in use of Scratch. So hang in there - we expect things to get better.

That being said - I think calling it a “crisis” is just a tad dramatic

The 500 Error that myself (well as drmcw), Turkey3 and DadOfMrLog have is a permanent effect as though something has been corrupted in our accounts.

I've been getting it occasionally on both accounts (more commonly my _test) but not too severely. Hope it gets better….
