Help with a Fighting Game

So I'm making a fighting game, and I need help with a ranged enemy. I want to have multiple of these enemies on screen at once, but I don't know how to make each one individually fire their attack. Cloning doesn't work because it's one base enemy that I clone to have multiple. Does anyone have any advice on a better way to do this?
