protegent isn't a scam, it's just a very poorly designed antivirus. People in India don't install like 600mb games or something. Anyway who would want to risk a jail sentence to rob 1000 dollars from a company?
well yeah, but it's still dangerous to use because of that.
What did you expect of a country that has a minimum wage of 10 euro monthly?
(no offense to any Hindu people out there)

I guess Protegent only works on Indian computers.

spoiler alert:
there's no anti virus with data recovery software, even protegent.

but protegent is for companies, and it's actually a pretty good antivirus but blocks mostly everything.
it blocks everything that is not registered that tries to read the disc.

His main design was for school and work office, because in work or school you have programs that are verified, and Protegent blocks everything except verifed stuff that tries to read the disk (programs)
Or it can track/record what you were doing on your school computer and then send it to your teacher.
Also it's only 15 bucks, so I would say about 4/5
Protegent's biggest lie is data recovery software.

Okay, so out of bordem, I made a list of things Protegent CLAIMS to do:

-Data Protection
-Give viruses the inability to enter your computer
-Protection against Malware, Spyware, and Trojan viruses
-Filters Junk mail
-Monitering Wifi
-Keeps data encrypted
-It updates Virus security
-Anti-Phishing
-Safe pay for secure E-Shopping
-Silent Security
-Making monitoring at office lot easier (wow perfect grammar)
-Blocks Facebook and Games (that's how I got the message, does it do the same for Twitter?)
-Prevents data leakage
-Blocks Pen Drive
-Blocks Email (not sure about this one)
-Blocks Printing without consent (No Print without Permission, as Proto says it )
-Prevents Data Theft
-Reversing Data Loss (Proto's biggest lie)
-Recovering Deleted Files (lier lier pants on Fire)
-Tracks lost laptop
-Prevent's laptop theft
-Remote Data encryption
-Gives Internet Activity Log to chosen email address

What it actually does:
-Data Protection
-Monitering Wifi
-Keeps data encrypted
-Silent Security
-Making monitoring at office lot easier (wow perfect grammar)
-Prevents data leakage
-Blocks Pen Drive
-Blocks Printing without consent
-Tracks lost laptop
-Remote Data encryption
-Gives Internet Activity Log to chosen email address

It blocks everything that tries to read the disk and is unregistered.
