What does 'bump' mean in the forums?
I'm pretty new to the forums and I've seen a lot of people use the term ‘bump’ frequently, so I was wondering what it meant?

What does 'bump' mean in the forums?
Any post on a topic will move it back up to the top of the list of posts. Usually, if a topic is falling behind and not getting any attention (and the user still wants people to see it for whatever reason), they will usually post “bump” (Bring Up My Post) to bring it back up to the top instead of anything else.

They post “bump” to help give their post more attention, bump means: bring up my post.
You don't really have to say bump. If the author of the original post posts again in the topic the topic will be bumped.

Actually, if anyone comments on it it gets bumped up. So there you go. But yeah, like people said, bump means Bring Up My Post, but you could just comment something like They post “bump” to help give their post more attention, bump means: bring up my post.

Oh, now my post is on the front page. Whoops!

A bump is when a user needs replies on a discussion topic that is not on the top somewhere on the list. It is suggested that you do it at least 24 hours after the last post and it is not on the first page of the forum anymore.

Bump means to bring up the post because someone has responded in it. The more replies you get in a discussion that you made, the higher it goes which is called a bump

This is not how this system works. If this was how the system worked, bumps wouldn't be a thing and no new posts would get attention. Bump means to bring up the post because someone has responded in it. The more replies you get in a discussion that you made, the higher it goes which is called a bump

(But don't bump up things that don't need to be bumped up (i.e stuff on like the 635th page)).

Bump is used to bring a post right below the “sticky” posts, for example if you had a shop you would post bump so more people would see it.
