A Way To Fix Unwanted Emoticons

Not sure if this belongs in the bugs and glitches form, but when ever you type a URL or forget a space with a colon, an unwanted emoticon appears.

Or maybe you have a username named PowerScratcher (completely random), and you sometimes forget to use spaces

UsernameowerBoy

Here are two ways this could be fixed:

1. You would have to use this BBCode:

That's funny [emoticon]:P[/emoticon]
That's funny [e]:P[/e]

OR

2. Make it so if the surrounding characters are not spaces (i.e. https/scratch.mit.edu), then an emoticon will not appear.

I feel like the first option is too long for Something so simple. The second could work, but what about existing ones?

Could you please elaborate on what you mean by “the existing ones?” I'm a bit confused

I think maybe it should be [e] and [/e]. This seems more reasonable to me.

Right now, you can workaround it by opening and closing a tag in the middle, although New Scratchers will hardly get that.

[e] and [/e] sounds sort of like the wiki's way of doing things, with {{E|:P}}] to create .
I sort of like that system, really, but I also like the idea of making sure you can't accidentally do so by having to put spaces.

Almost A year after, here is my reason supporting:
Links could get messed up by the evil emoticons. For example, go to “blobhadius/soundeffect for free sound!”

Support the idea, but no support for the solutions as using BBcode would be too long and requiring spaces would mess up a few intentional emojis (I often forget to leaves spaces when using them)
Instead, I'd suggest a third option- making the emojis their own codes that a user would be unlikely to put on accident, a bit like the codes for the emojis.
