Heya! I'm trying to upload a GIF into one of my Scratch projects, but it failed to load. I was wondering if it was too large for Scratch. The file size is 22 mb.
Does anyone know what the max file size is for a sprite?

The max file size for a project is 50 mb. I think you got to the limit of the project.

It's an empty project, I was just trying to upload a 22 mb sprite

Oh nvm, the fize is 29.2 mb, probably there was some other space being taken up in the project with the stage

Some of my projects that are smaller than yours have failed to upload.

I am not sure if uploads may timeout on the Scratch website if a PC's upload speed (controlled by your Internet Provider) is too slow?

Yes, there is a maximum file size for an upload of either an image or a sound. It is 10meg, but I would put in a safety margin because it is unreliable whether the upload will work the first time if you go the full 10megs. I try to limit mine to 5 or 6 megs.

There is no problem uploading a 22meg animated GIF, BUT you must first break it into 3 or 4 pieces and upload it into 3 or 4 sprites. Don't worry, there will be no gap when it plays.

Total project size limit is 50meg, so 49megs of GIF is the max in a project.

So I was just trying to give myself a photo, and then this scratch thing puts must have photo 512 kb, and less than 500 times 500. So I put that type of photo up, and then it still says the same thing like *! BTW! Go follow my original chanel at PamdasBossLOL, and follow this channel AvalieAcca!!!

I have a problem like this but im trying to upload audio, its four minutes and is only 11mb

Please don't post on old threads. To answer your question 10mb is the max for audio so you should probably split it into multiple pieces.
