Add polls for forum topics
I have seen polls in other websites. Polls are online voting devices in forum threads.
Polls should be added to Scratch as tools in forum topics. There could be multiple polls or no polls in one topic. There would be two kinds of polls: single choice and multiple choice. In single choice, a user could only vote for one thing in the poll, while in multiple choice, a user could vote once for each of the things in the poll.
Polls would be useful because they could record data/votes from users without having the forum topic creator to do the long process of finding opinions from other people's replies.
Sorry if this suggestion isn't detailed enough.

Semi-support, it'd be cool but probably wouldn't be that important.

As long as this feature isn't available in the suggestions forum because we don't want to encourage people to state their opinion without saying why.

Not only that, but the Scratch Team never adds suggestions based on the amount of support. Instead, they follow a basic protocol that helps decide whether it is needed and will help Scratch grow in its capabilities.
On the other hand, this would be very interesting to see statistics of what other people think, especially on the other outside of Scratch forums.

I support this. In my show and tell thread I have a poll asking what genre people think the game is and a link to it in the first post, it has been up for 4 months and no one has made a post to vote yet. This would encourage people to vote if someone makes a poll because it is faster than making a post and it is more visible to people viewing that thread.

This can be done already.
Just write a php script to count votes or whatever and provide the links to both counters.

Duplicate
Sorry, I didn't know this thread was a duplicate, especially because there isn't a proper search function for the forums.

Only Google can do this.there isn't a proper search function for the forums. You can use your favourite search engine and search the Scratch forums using this format:On most search engines the “site:” restricts the search results to the specified website.site:scratch.mit.edu/discuss [query]
Edit: other search engines can do this as well.

No support because the forums are a place where we can express our reasoning and seek to discover options better than a poll provides.

Strong Support. It's the best way to find out how many people like or hate a suggestion.
