Why is FNAF banned on scratch?

FNAF content is not banned on Scratch, however scary FNAF content is banned on Scratch. Essentially, if it's a scary game (in which FNAF is considered so), then it's banned from Scratch.

Clean versions of FNAF without violent/gory/flashy images are permitted, but they're quite rare.

There's a search filter preventing FNaF games from showing up, same with an FPS search filter (which sucks because some projects titled FPS are completely appropriate and educational)

However, I suggested the ability to turn on seeing FNaF.

However there is a search engine somewhere that allows you to search anything on scratch. I'll try to find a link.

Why is FNAF banned on scratch?

Confirmed - the Scratch Team has made a filter that blocks certain search terms from showing any results. They currently block all search results when “fps” “fnaf” “call of duty” and some other names are searched. Probably because the ST considers most FNAF games to be inappropriate and wants to prevent them from showing up.

Go to Google and type what you want to search, then add site:scratch.mit.edu at the end so it will only return results on Scratch.

Why is FNAF banned on scratch?

It isn't really BANNED. It's just too inappropriate for scratch because there is some 4 year old's playing this.
Screamer
A screamer, also known as a jumpscare, is a project where an image suddenly appears along with a random sound (traditionally a scream — hence the name “screamer”). These projects are made to scare people or to make a person laugh. Screamers can be fun and enjoyable, but they should not be too distressful, as Scratch is an all-ages website. If one sees a screamer project that is inappropriate or too scary, one should report it.

The concept of a “screamer” is not unique to Scratch; the first notable ones were made starting from the year 2002. Today they are a common phenomenon on YouTube and other video hosting websites.

⚠️ Due to the restriction of Five Nights at Freddy's projects, screamers are now almost intolerable on Scratch. It is extremely cautioned that you must seriously follow the warning in the next section.
Creating a Screamer

⚠️ Warning: Keep in mind that this is a site for all ages. Never use frightening sounds or images. You can play a funny sound or a comical scream that goes along with a cartoony drawing, but never use images that would appear in real screamers. It's also wise to add a scare warning in the project notes, but be aware that it can make your project NFE. Failure to follow these rules will likely get your project unshared and lead to alerts or bans.
To create a Screamer, you need to first make a normal animation. Then add a new sprite, a 480x360 filled rectangle with your “scream” image. Finally, add this code:
when green flag clicked
play sound [scream v] until done
I

When your animation is over, you need to broadcast "scream" for your scream image to appear, along with the scream sound.

Why is FNAF banned on scratch?

Some people might consider it too scary. I do get that you're pretty upset about it as I used to be a really big fan of FNAF back in the day..
Mainly they marked the projects as NFE or removed them. But they're still allowing things related to the game as long as it doesn't break the guidelines.
