This already existed on the Scratch Website back when they originally made it, but the feature was removed.

I doubt the ST will add it back in again, since the Random Project feature sometimes put bad stuff on the front page.

I haven't really been active much since 2021. I now mostly look at / help with other people's projects, answer questions on the forums and work on stuff in other programming languages like JavaScript. Scratch is still awesome and I don't think I'll be leaving it any time soon. <3

Check out ocular, a Scratch forum search tool by jeffalo that helps find lost posts, or the Hidden Blocks TurboWarp extension I helped create that has a bunch of useful hacked blocks ready to add to your Scratch projects. (PR for details, see the Hidden Blocks category to the left of the editor.)

What do you mean by, ‘put bad stuff on the front page’ ,it wouldn't show until you click the button, and if bad stuff appear, that's to Scratch's advantage, so that people can be aware of them and report

I don't think so. It used to exist, but it was removed due to the chance very bad stuff could get on the front page, and I don't think it will be readded if they have a valid reason to remove it

Isn't this like special:random on the Scratch Wiki?
Also, this might lead to very inappropriate content being shown, but on the other hand it could help underrated Scratchers get known, but on my mutated third hand, many projects, studios, and Scratchers are either inactive, not very quality (aka “bad at Scratch”), or likely both. Idk.

1. create a test project that is deleted the next second so the URL doesnt get used up by it

2. take the number in the URL and get a random number between it and 1

3. go to that project

4. reapet until it is not an error message and show that one as the random project selected

this is also how it could work

Wow, I swear that I must've responded to at least two or three duplicates of this thread in the past. Either way, I'm going to do my usual thing. The bookmarklet I posted doesn't seem to give inappropriate results very often, but it also doesn't typically give very interesting ones either. I'd suppose that it's a little more entertaining than you'd expect, but not by much. Adding this wouldn't really hurt anybody, but I don't think that it's worth being much more than a silly little bookmarklet. So, eh.
