Since the new Scratch is online, it seems pointless to do HUGE updates. It would be simpler to do smaller updates very frequently.

Current way of doing things:
1) An feature is requested.
2) Scratchers support this a lot.
3) It gets added in a few years, with the inclusion of many other updates.

My idea:
1) A feature is requested.
2) Scratchers support it a lot.
3) It gets added in a few weeks/months just as a simple new thing, not including tons of other features.

My idea is quicker and simpler.

So, would this work?

I mean for when it officially becomes released, instead of 2.0 –> 2.1, to have it have just tiny updates. Yes - I know this happens for the beta.

That too! If you check out the bugtracker, they have version numbers like 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 with fewer changes between versions, so that they can update more frequently.
