Problem with GIF on studio profile. HELP
Recently, the scratch team allowed gifs to be used, but they still haven't fixed every problem with them. Hopefully they will fix it!
Warning: Complicated, and mind blowing.
Zeno's Paradox: I can prove you can't get anywhere. Before you get from where you are to where you wish to go, you first have to go halfway to the endpoint. From there, you go half of the remaining way. And halfway, on and on, but you can never reach your goal, because there will always be the smallest fraction of space you haven't gone through.
I can also prove you can't move. Similar to the above, I will use the same principals to prove you can't move. We already know that to get to your destination, you must first go halfway. In addition, before you get to the halfway point, you must first go halfway to the halfway point. And then before you get there, you must first go halfway. And on and on, you get smaller and smaller fractions of space you must first travel to. You can never move away from where you are.

Another problem with GIFs is that the frames don't switch, they layer, so if you have a transparent background in a frame, you will see the previous frame(s) underneath it. Recently, the scratch team allowed gifs to be used, but they still haven't fixed every problem with them. Hopefully they will fix it!

That's actually an option when you create the animated GIF. Otherwise, people would be unable to create transparent animated GIFs, but they can.
The “layered” type of GIF has a lot smaller file size. That's why it was used in the past. Older GIFs on the net are sometimes that type of GIF.
If you have a layered GIF you can possibly open it in Photoshop and resave it as a regular GIF. Haven't done it myself, so no guarantee on that.

No matter what the gif is, it'll always be layering and will always move at a set speed, regardless of the browser. It's a known Scratch bug at the moment.Hey!

I know it is SUPPOSED to always move at the same speed. That's why I asked him how fast it moves in Internet Explorer. To see what his answer was.No matter what the gif is, it'll always be layering and will always move at a set speed, regardless of the browser. It's a known Scratch bug at the moment.Hey!

I just checked the studios I am following. Many of them have animated GIFs for a thumbnail and they are all working just fine except for one that has an obviously layered GIF.
What is the evidence for this “glitch”? Does it affect everybody? Does it affect every GIF? Obviously not, because I just looked at some. Are we talking about something other than thumbnails? I need more info because I don't see it.
