Hi Digital_Gaming here,
Have you ever wondered just what the official guidelines of Scratch are or been confused by them and wished that there was more explanation about what they are? Well that is what this thread is for.

1. Be respectful. This means that you should be nice to everyone on Scratch no matter what. You may not like everyone you meet on Scratch but you need to always be kind and not dissrespect any users on this site. Also if you make it obvious who you're talking about that still breaks this rule, even if you don't name and shame, which is also not allowed. Also don't write posts in all caps lock

2.Be constitutive. This one is very simple. Just don't spam and copy things word for word that other scratchers said. Posting random links on other scratchers profiles is considered spam.

3.Always give credit. Since Scratch is an open place you can re-use (remix) any projects that you find on here! But you have to remember to change something and give credit to the person whose project you remixed. If you don't your project may get taken down by the ST ( Scratch Team)

4.Keep personal info personal. Don't share your face,email,phone number, address. name, or anything else that could used to identify you in real life on Scratch.

5. Honesty is the only policy. On Scratch you need to be honest. Tricking the community and otherwise being deceptive is not allowed.

6. Help keep the site friendly and Scratch on. If you see something that is clearly not okay for Scratch you should report it to the Scratch team.

Remember if you fail to follow any of these guidelines you may get an alert and/or banned!

hey there! I got some suggestions for your guide.

1) You're basically re-stating the guidelines, maybe add more depth?

2) Try some BBCode to make it real pretty

3) “diss” is a pretty informal word, perhaps change it?

4)You have titles for 1 and 2 but morphed into paragraphs from 3 onwards, try and keep the formatting consistent.

Anyway, I'm not perfect, but those are my opinions.

I'm seeing quite a lot of people going to to everyone's profiles and projects just to advertise and ask for follows…Is this ok?

It may be annoying but it's not against the community guidelines. Unless they spam requests, then it is against the community guidelines.

Generally, random links to projects and requests for follows are considered spam - you should report those kind of comments.

Thanks for offering your advice, but keep in mind that this forum is intended for new users to introduce themselves to the community. We'd like to avoid any more new guides here. Remember that the community guidelines were designed to be simple and easy to understand - they can't cover everything, but paraphrasing them as you're doing here isn't adding much, and turning it into a laundry list of things that aren't allowed will quickly become unreadable.
