You need to specify why you support, or at least provide some further contribution to the conversation.
Please add to discussion instead of pestering a user.

As for the suggestion:

1. I would love this idea, but how would it be formatted? I don't want BBCode
2. What about space limitations? Would the limit not change based on formatting?

Think before you act.
Actions speek louder than words.

Yes I agree. If the forums have it then the description should to.

We definitely need this! The formatting for bolding, italicizing, and underlining in comments should work the same way like it does in the forums (like using [b][/b] for bold, etc.).
EDIT: What I meant to say is, we should be able to use BBCode for bolding, italicizing, and underlining in comments.

Oh wow, three years later is a huge bump

But you should still be more specific and/or constructive in your post explaining why you support.

I do support this! I can't really think of much that could go wrong with this improvement, the pros definitely outweigh the cons, and I would think of this as quite a nice bonus.

Well, actually somebody could make a comment more dramatic in a bad way, like:
GryffindorFreak1 said:
Wow, this is really HORRIBLE. Like, honestly, did you even try?

But, of course that would not be much different then just a regular comment without those special text affects/

Yes, someone could make a comment more dramatic, but it would probably have the same effect, and you can always use the report button.

I support for reasons that others mentioned. But why just project comments? It should be available for:
  • Project Comments
  • Profile Comments
  • Studio Comments
  • About Me
  • What I'm Working On
  • Instructions
  • Notes And Credits
  • Project Titles (maybe)

Yes, because aparrently all New Scratchers are spies who want to DDoS me. Nice job sniffing that out.

I support this. CAPS LOCK looks unprofessional and like one is shouting a comment instead of placing emphasis or even more emphasis.

Why do you find it “disrespectful” they are agreeing with what you are saying which is nice

Some people have different preferences. Some people mind find it offensive, some may like it. I personally don't care.

I believe this is referring to the comments rather than the description, however.

Not to be offensive or anything, but there is still a large amount of people who don't understand how BBCode works, and adding it to another large part of the site will probably throw a lot of people off.

This also brings me to a question, or rather suggestion adding to this topic; would unclosed tags be automatically closed at the end? Or if someone replies, they would have to manually close it?

In example, someone does not close the bold tag in the code below:

Yes, I think this is [b]a great suggestion.

And then, someone quotes it.

[quote=User]Yes, I think this is [b]a great suggestion.[/quote]
Agreed!

And it appears like this (“Agreed” is not intended to be in bold):

User wrote:

Agreed!

Also, support to this suggestion, and pulling inspiration from theonlygusti, it should be a simplified markdown, or if it uses BBCode, which it should not, it should automatically close any unclosed tags.

BBCode in comments wouldn't work. BBCode is designed pretty specifically for forums. Using markdown in comments would be nice

Well it would, it's just a very ugly markup language. I agree that markdown would be a far superior choice, and it should also be markdown in the forums.
