Colourful Variables!

You can have variables in different colours. So they are not all orange.

Colourful Variables!

I really want this! I've been thinking of it before, but I was just too lazy to put it in the forums.

+1, it'd be very useful. Or maybe even a way to hide the background and border, but leave the text?

First thing for me would be private variables another colour.

I support this as well, in scratch 1.4 you could go into the squeak editing thing and manually change the colors of different things. Scratch is no longer in squeak so that doesn't work

1. Having initially a different color for global variables, variables belonging to a sprite and cloud variables would be very appreciated.

2. A possibility to change the variable color might be helpful to
- structure your code
- change the appearance of a variable at screen display

You can still upload projects from the Scratch 1.4. editor. So, what you can do is edit the variable colors in the Scratch 1.4. editor, upload the project from the Scratch 1.4. editor, but NOT edit the project from the Scratch 2.0. online editor.

Thanks for the suggestion, but the Edit Block Colors is not doing the job in the following regards:

  • “The colors revert back to the defaults when a project is shared or opened.”
which renders the function useless to make projects with non-orange counters (in order to match the color style for a project).
  • Second problem: a color distinction between local and global variables is not possible with Edit Block Colors.
