I am doing a science fair project that involves Scratch, and I'm on the research stage. Since coding is relevant to my project, I need to know what coding language Scratch uses.

Depends which version: 1.4 was written in Squeak but version 2 is in Flash.

How would you type it out too?
I know rect(34,45,56,67); but is Adobe any different?

I'm going to answer your question 2 ways…as I don't know which you want the answer to.

1. Scratch's programming language is Scratch. It's separate from everything else. However, I've realized it's quite similar to JavaScript.
2. Scratch 1.4 was written in Squeak. Scratch 2.0 was written in Flash. The offline editor involves Adobe AIR, but the online editor is probably fine with just the Flash Player.

its a modified version of an older javascript version, that can run squeak, flash and I've heard it also works well with python but i think thats due to the HTMLifier using some python among java and etc. there is a tool called leopard that turns it from javascript in block format to javascript text
