phone number censor and links

Eventually, when we get to the next digit in the project codes, the phone number censor will replace all link project codes with XXXXXXXXXX, and people will not be able to tell eachother about their projects, or link their new project on their profile, you may need to fix this.

this isnt fixed can we fix this now guys

Why would you ever need to link someone a Phone Number? And if you really did, do it somewhere else; like Facebook, or Google Hangouts.

I didnt say that, I said the link ID's are getting high enough where eventually they will get BLOCKED by the phone number censor.

Wow… I didn't really think about this, because I didn't know we were so close. That's going to be a big problem.

The projects are only at 9 digits, but in a few years they will be at 10 digits. The ST does have some time to fix this, but it will be hard if this happens. Maybe a change to hexadecimal?

I didn't think about that. That would be something very important to change. Maybe adding letters into the code like YouTube does?

yeah but then there will always be that one character that makes it a swear word.

I think it has already happened with projects that start with (for example) 1800, because the normal filter blocks some commercial phone prefixes. As much as I support removing the phone filter, the ST has made it clear they won't, so they should make Scratch URLs exempt from it instead.

Oh my, this could turn out to be a huge problem… Adding letters to the mix would help, but yes, it might make a sear word (like my youtube channel, I have to say ‘space’ when posting it because there are 2 letters that stand for a swear word in it when it was generated…), so this could be a major problem and the ST needs to fix it soon…
