Adding a "Notify me when" button to a project

It would be cool, I think, if there could be a “Notify me when” button on a project. You could toggle what you wanted to be notified about (list below).

Also, the project creator would have a button where he could “ping” everyone following the project. EDIT 1: It would be limited to once every 24 hours :END EDIT That way everyone would know when there was an update to a project they really liked. If this was here it would add loves and faves to projects which people viewed while they were in a minor release and never came back to.

This would increase the number of new scratchers that stayed here when people encouraged them by following their projects. List of things you could be notified about a project you were following:

-When somebody commented on the project
-When somebody remixed the project
-When somebody added the project to a studio
-When someone loved or faved the project
-When the creator sent an update “ping” EDIT 1: The ping could be limited to once every 24 hours or so. EDIT 3: I say a ping, instead of when the project is modified, because what if, like I do, the project is modified lots of times a day some days? That would be annoying.
EDIT 2: -When the project is modified
-All these can be toggled on and off

The thing I would like most on here is the pinging feature, because my project Minecraft OS Collaboration (click signature) was viewed many times while in a minor release, and I doubt if those viewers will ever come back. If they were interested in it they could have followed it and gotten pinged, so they would see the better version. Thanks! If this has already been suggested please tell me, I think this probably expands any former suggest.

I actually really like this idea.
My only concern is “pinging” I like the idea, but I think instead just make it notify everytime a significant change occurs.

How would the Follow-bot know what was a significant change? And to prevent spamming there could be a 24-hour frequency limit

I would enjoy this, but maybe you could add “when the project is modified” to the list of things you could check off? I would love to know when someone updates a project, and users like me focus more on updating projects than making new ones.

Why would you be able to toggle messages for projects but not for studios?

Please read my signature! It might explain some lingo that I used in my post or comment. However, not all of it shows, so you have to highlight the entire bottom of the post, from “Please read my signature!” to where it says report, and copy and paste in into a new sheet or tab or whatever.
I can't decide my signature between:
1. I'm a grammar stickler, and my pet peeve is when people use good as an adverb.
2. I have lots of [creativity]original ideas[/creativity]. [creativity]This[/creativity] is one of those ideas.
3. If I used this symbol: ⸮ in my comment, please look it up before doing anything else.
4. {Minot, North Dakota/Donald Trump parodies} “WE'RE GONNA BUILD A DAM AND MAKE CANADA PAY FOR IT!” “When Canada sends its water, they’re not sending their best drinking water…They’re bringing sleet. They’re bringing floods. The water's toxic.” (It's just a joke that I came up with.)
5. One should make his/her signature text small; that way (s)he can cram more text into the signature.
6. New [scratchblocks] idea each week! (Thanks to Bright-Idea (Read her signature.) for inspiration/the general idea.) Here's the archive:

I feel like spamming “pings” shouldn't be a problem, since you could just unfollow a project if it “pings” too many times

Also, I feel like the word “follow” implies some kind of quantity that determines the quality of a project, which isn't a good idea IMO. It could be reworded to “notify me when…” (and then display the options below) and the number of “followers” should be hidden (to everyone).

This is my signature. It appears below all my posts. Discuss it on my profile, not the forums. Here's how to make your own.

Wow, this is a pretty good idea. I love the update part mostly because I updates my game daily (Yes everyday).

I don't know. I didn't make the studio followerbot

Adding a "Notify me when" button to a project

I feel like this is a great idea. Instead of pings, maybe just get a notification when ever a project is modified? And “Notify me when…” is a better alternative than “Follow”, in my opinion, mostly because that way it won't be confused with following the user that created it, if that makes any sense.

This is quite the idea! Support. There are many great games I would love to be “following”. The use of an unfollow button and a ping every 24 hours would make it effective against spam. I think the messages should be just like studio activity messages, with a project activity tab right next to the cloud data history tab.

Adding a "Notify me when" button to a project

Here, let me elaborate. I think that there would have to be default settings (what you are automatically notified on), and then there is a button that you can press to change the notification settings.

Support! I really like this idea! A lot of the time, for example, I may want to see comments on projects on my test account. Instead of logging into my test account every few days, I could simply have it fall into my messages and only check for profile comments every once in a while.
