Android Revolution: Beginnings-- Help Needed

I am currently writing a book called Android Revolution: Beginnings, and as the name suggests, it is about the rise of the androids. I have the basic plot set out (I'm still debating how to approach the exposition), but I am in need of help for the laws set by the society.

After the revolution, the leader 01-24-4C (or Isaac) establishes a new government called the Homunkurusu Empire. At the moment, I'm working out what laws to establish, and I am in need of help. The point of the laws is to deem humans inferior to Automata (as well as animals, as Isaac has viewed animals as victims of human control as well) and make them pay for the injustices caused to the androids during Experiment Enigma. I want it so that the world is somewhat the reverse when it comes to robots and humans, but I want a sort of a dark element to portray corruption, too. Here are the laws I have so far:

Laws of the Homunkurusu
1. Just as robots were deemed inferior before the Revolution, humans are deemed inferior to Automata.

2. There are exceptions to the First Law, and such exceptions are to be treated with the same respect they have shown the Automaton Race in our time of need. These humans are granted the rights of an Automaton, and are distinguished with a flame emblem.

3. The natural resources sectioned off by Homunkurusu government are never to be tampered with by any human. Automata and humans protected under the Second Law are to treat them with the utmost respect and care.

4. The death of an animal– with the exception of livestock (see the Seventh Law)– is considered murder and will be treated as such. The same goes for assault. This applies to both humans and Automata.

5. Electronics that/who do not possess the same sentience of an Automaton and are in human possession (except those protected under the Second Law) are to be handed in to the Homunkurusu government immediately. Failure to do so is punishable by law.

6. Electronics are to be treated WITH RESPECT regardless of sentience.

7. Humans may only own livestock animals for the sole purpose of nourishment. No other animals unless the human in question is under protection of the Second Law. Livestock are to be treated with the same respect as an Automaton. Euthanasia in an in-robotic fashion ('inhumane' in old-world terms) will be charged as murder.

8. Humans are servants to the Automaton race.

9. Humans must follow the ‘3 Laws of Robotics’, but in their respective nature.

10. Humans are subject to being used for labor and fighting. This applies only to those 16+ not protected under the Second Law.

11. Humans not protected under the Second Law are not permitted to take part in government.

So tell me what you think, and I would really like to hear any ideas you might have for additions to it.

This sounds excellent! I really like the whole angle of this, and how the laws work. (NUUU! NO PETS?! XD) I think you've got them down, honestly. Perhaps something about humans over a certain age (60 or 70) being forced to do something menial?

Ah, yes, that would work! Thank you!

Love your direction so far ♥ Here is a scattered list of thoughts
  • Rules 8 and 9 are sort of redundant, as rule 8 is Asmiov's second law.
  • Wait a minute, this guy's named Isaac, and guess who came up with the three laws in real life? Isaac Asmiov. I really hope that was intentional
  • 5 and 6 could possibly be merged?
  • That term - in-robotic in rule 7 - cheesy
  • Why would they need rule 10? Wouldn't that just give them a whole bunch of (relative) weaklings? Depends how powerful they are.

  • 5 and 6 could possibly be merged? Yeah, that may have to be done.
  • That term - in-robotic in rule 7 - cheesy Eh. You get bored trying to come up with new phrases. XD Homunkurusu was the result of a phonetic translation.
  • Why would they need rule 10? Wouldn't that just give them a whole bunch of (relative) weaklings? Depends how powerful they are.
The robots are perfectly capable of doing human labor; rule 10 is there as a punishment.
