TileCraft

weisboys created TileCraft recently, and this is the official thread of TileCraft.
TileCraft is similar to some other games such as DigSoft and ColorCraft as a 2D tile game. You can use different materials to build whatever you want, then export it and share it! Creating “interface packs” and extra tiles are also encouraged, so share a link to those here and I will add them to TileCraft when I can. Version 1.1.3 is a good version to remix because it only has one texture pack in it so it is not as confusing. Simply redesign the buttons and tiles. Don't worry about integrating it into TileCraft yourself, that's why I'm here.
The current version of TileCraft is 2.0, the Ultimate Update. Here is a link to TileCraft 2.0: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/328881231/
Thanks to the TileCraft team, including myself, @weisboys, @WeisMiner1, and @fluffykitty98 aka @trombonist98.

If you're an early adopter, the very most recent changes are on the TileCraft GitHub repository

The TileCraft 1.2 update has been released! (Link: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/137024129/ ) It adds a texture pack manager. To create your own texture pack, you can remix a version of TileCraft and change the costumes in the “Tiles” sprite. Then, post a link to it here with a link to the texture pack and its name, and I will implement it into the next version of TileCraft as soon as I can.

Also, please make sure your texture pack has 10 tiles, not 9, because the other texture packs have 10 and it will create issues unless I put in a workaround. If for some reason I need to, I can, but if you just make 10 that would be best.

Happy Scratching!!

Edit: Here are the official guidelines for a texture pack. It should:
Have no more and no less than 10 tile textures per pack
Have one main menu background
Have one of each button, which are: the “Create World” button, the “Import World” button, the “Texture Pack Manager” button, the “Debug Mode: On” and the “Debug Mode: Off” buttons, the “Sample World” button, the “Dismiss” button for the sample worlds, and the “Dismiss” button for the saved world dialog.
Edit 2: It should also contain the button that has an exclamation point on it. For an example please see TileCraft 1.3, and if you prefer, different sounds/music.

TileCraft 1.5 - The Simple Update is here!
I haven't been on Scratch much recently so there haven't been updates recently. I've been working on some other projects in the Scratch that I've been doing, like a tower defense game and Super Decoder 3.0. Anyway, here's the changelog for 1.5:

Ver 1.5 - The Simple Update
+ Added the new “SimpleTexture” pack by @SuperSamuel25MC
* Renamed the costumes in the “save” sprite for easier code reading.

So just thought I'd mention, TileCraft isn't dead, but personally I don't know what to add to it. Anybody have suggestions? Also, here are the instructions for creating a new texture pack.

First, remix a version of TileCraft (preferably the current version; get a link on the first post) and change the background sprite costume, named Menu.
Then edit the first costume in each of the button sprites (except for the ones with names ending in Textures. The button sprites that need changing, in order of appearance, are:
  • load
  • new
  • sample
  • debug
  • dismissSample
  • save
  • texture
  • TilecraftStudio
Change the costume of the button called regularTextures (yes, I know I told you not to change anything ending in Textures but do it anyway now.)
Most importantly, change the first 10 costumes in the Tiles sprite.
Then share it, tag me, and I'll do the rest. I counted 11 sprites that should be changed, one being the Tiles sprite. If you forget a few that's okay, I'll just copy the style of the ones you did change. Thanks!!

Boy it's been awhile!! Sorry for the delay, but Tilecraft 1.8 is here! The sub-name-thingy is called The Organized Update! Why, you ask? Here's the complete changelog:

+Added a palette for better selection of tiles
+Added water tile
+Added lava tile
+Added dark stone tile
+You can now assign tiles to the number key selection
+Added new “Create World” screen to further customize your worlds!
+Added “World Themes” to change the background of your worlds!
+Added a number-key-hotbar-thing overview.
+Added a new Sample World!
+Clicking on a tile in palette assigns the clicked tile to your cursor
*Minor (okay, some sizable) coding changes
*Changed texture pack manager to interface style menu. No longer has an effect on tiles, since you can see all of them at once.
*Fixed the bug where scrolling down with the scroll wheel would prompt you to delete the world.
*The Close Button in Sample Worlds is now positioned correctly

We love seeing your guys' worlds so please, post your world codes here!! And don't forget to suggest new features and tiles!

Back in time for 3.0, a NEW update is here! It's called TileCraft 1.9, The New Update! This update changed the way that saving world codes works due to a change with 3.0 lists. For detailed info, see the changelog below:

* Changed the way worlds are saved due to Scratch 3.0 lists acting differently now.
+ Added 3.0 Tile
+ Added Swamp Grass Tile
+ Added Flower Grass Tile
* Fixed the dates on loading screen and title screen

Also, we have a new GitHub repository on TileCraft!

As always, keep building worlds and posting them here or the TileCraft Studio!

Also by the way, you can remix and add tiles by simply adding new costumes to the Tiles sprite. Drag-and-drop, no configuration needed. You have to follow the way they're already set up, like the same size. I think it's 15x15 or 16x16.

Boo! There's a new update to Tilecraft, as a sort of early Halloween gift! It's called Tilecraft 1.10 - The Creepy Update! Why so creepy? Well for starters, it adds in @TheRealScratchBot's creepy textured tiles to the game, as well as a new scary Jack O' Lantern!! If your not already spooked out, here's the official changelog:

+Added all the creepy tiles made by @TheRealScratchBot!
+Added 1 new Music Track
+Added the Jack O' Lantern tile
+Added a new sample world (number 7)
-Removed 2 music files
*Changed the menu buttons to now have helpful icons next to them
*The world Theme “Blank” is now called “White”
*Fixed issue where dubug menu doesn't show toggling pop-ups
*Fixed the close button in Sample Worlds being hidden behind the list

Don't forget to post your world codes here, or the project page! We really would love to see all of your spooky scary TileCraft worlds!

I've thought about the save code situation a lot more, and drastically improved the shortness of save codes in v2.0. It's still in heavy development so it's not here on the scratch website, but you can follow the instructions on the GitHub page to get it from there!

TileCraft 2.0 is getting ready for release, and we REALLY need beta testers to find bugs. All you really need to do is make something cool in the project, test out the new features, and report any bugs you find to this thread or the GitHub issue tracker. It's easy and fun! Direct download
