Like button for forums (w/ Concept Edits)
Today I have a suggestion that affects all the forum posts to ever exist. How about a Like button? It could show if you agree with someone's opinions without wasting an entire post about it. So far we have four concept edits:

If you look in the corner you see a “Like” button. Here's another one.

This one displays some of the usernames of the people who liked the post. While uploading the photo I realized that some users might not want it to be public when they like a post, so there would be an option in Account Settings. I also know a lot of people will complain about this, so make sure to add the word “Hamburger” to your reply so I know you read the entire post.

This third screenshot didn't go too well. Obviously the “Save My Changes” button is supposed to go under all of the options but the HTML wasn't working too well for me. If you set the option to “No”, when you like someone's post, it will just add you to the number of people who have already liked the post without using your username, e.g. “1 person liked this post.”
The user would also get a message if their post was liked.

Anyway, let me know what you think.
EDIT: Competing for likes or adding phrases like “Like this post for …” wouldn't be allowed

No support, due to the effort that would be put into it as compared to the gain - ie, the net gain is probably too low

I think this may be a duplicate, as this has been a considered topic, and I think I've seen a similar suggestion before.
Anyways, in response to this specific suggestion, ‘liking’ could kind of encourage competition, therefore I do not support.

Though, 4thPixel if you don't mind I might add your concepts (crediting you of course) to my topic.

No support, people would start competing for likes.

1. Explain No support, people would start competing for likes.
2. Can you not quote the entire original post; there is no point if you're responding directly to it

Okay, fine. I won't. What I mean is, people are obsessed with getting more views and followers (Well, some people, not all) so they would probably be obsessed with getting more likes if likes were on the forums. But the ST hasn't removed “fame statistics” for all this time, so they probably won't be too angry if Scratchers start competing for likes if likes were on the forums.

Well they can't really compete much because there is no counter to track how successful their gain was. Honestly it would promote better posts because if they saw that likes can be achieved through making constructive posts they would do it more often.1. Explain No support, people would start competing for likes.

I think this would be a good idea so people can see if other people agree with the post and stuff.
Am I the first person to say hamburger?!??!?!?!?!

Thanks for the link! It does look like this is a duplicate topic so I'll close it to keep the conversation all in one place.Duplicate it is: I think this may be a duplicate, as this has been a considered topic, and I think I've seen a similar suggestion before.
