They're trying to ‘expose’ cruelty, but it often makes no sense, like that ‘Super Mario killed a tanuki’ thing.

Honestly, there's better (and less gory) ways of doing anti-animal cruelty games. When I was younger, I remember playing this game on a free games website called something like Dolly, which I think was about a sheep in a lab rescuing her friends from the lab.
