Music in mac?

I just downloaded 1.4 onto my new computer(I personally like it better than 2.0). When I clicked the “see inside” button for a project, it works. But When i save the project or any of its sound files, It cannot be read. I saved the sound to an iTunes file. I then went into scratch and when through the Mac>Applications>Itunes>media>Sound. I clicked on the sound file but it said “error: wav format not supported:17”
I then tried to save the music by going through: Mac>Applications>Scratch 1.4>media>sound. But the same error occurred. can someone tell me why?
Is it a compatibility error between 1.4 and 2.0? If so, I will get 2.0, though I personally like 1.4 better.

Scratch 2.0 projects cannot be opened by Scratch 1.4; they use different languages and blocks. I know that Kurt should support converting between Scratch 1.4 and 2.0 in its next update.

As for your sounds not uploading correctly, I'd like to assume this also is an issue of incompatibility since I'm also getting the issue. I'm wondering where the 17 part of it comes from though.

Wondering,
