Making A First Impression | A Scratch Guide
Making A First Impression | A Scratch Guide
Hello new scratchers and welcome to the scratch community! In this guide, I will teach you how to make a first impression on scratch! Hope you enjoy and learn something from it!
1. Making Your Topic:
This forum is made specifically for new scratchers to introduce yourself. Here I will tell you how to introduce yourself in this forum in a way that will help you make a good first impression!
1. The Title:
Before people click on your topic to say hello, they will first see the title. It's important to include your username and some type of hello.
A good example is “Hello there! I'm ______!”
Why? This is a good example because you say hello and say your username which will help people know something about you.
2. The Intro:
Once they have clicked on your topic they will read what you typed in. It's to have a intro so people get an idea of what type of person you are!
A good example is “Hello there! I'm ________! I'm a ______ who likes _________. One thing I really enjoy doing is ________, etc…”
Why? This tells a few things about you. Telling things about you will let people relate and feel good talking to you. Relating can also help you get more friends! Here you can also say things you will make in scratch like animations, art, games, etc…
3. The About:
Next, you should include basic things about in list. Making a list will let people think you are an organized person.
A good example is
“Things I like:
-_______
-_______
”
Why? Making a list will also help people read your post for it is more organized. Here you can include favorite color, animal, etc…
The Ending:
Lastly, to end your post, simply add something to end it.
A good example is “Thank for looking! Bye!”
Why? This is simple and will make people feel good.
2. Following Others
Following other people is a great way to make friends with other people and get to know them. Here I will explain getting the most out of following someone and giving them a first impression!
Make the Comment:
Basically, when you follow other people, they will probably check the message see, who is this.
You can tell them who you are in a simple way.
Comment on there profile! What does this do? People usually look at comments more than follows because they want to read what it is about.
A good example is “Hello there! I'm ______! I just saw your profile and I really love your _______. Can you teach me how to? Thanks!”
Why? You introduce yourself, and you show that you like there projects so they will feel good reading your comment. Asking a question is a good way to know more about them and possibly become friends.
3. Look First!
Always look at things before doing something. For example, someone may say “I don't take follow requests.” on there profile. But then, you comment on there profile “Can you follow me?” This will give you a bad impression and the person probably would be annoyed.
What To Do:
Before commenting on somebody's profile or asking to join a studio or collab, first read everything.
Why? The more knowledge you have, the more people will respect you.
People will also trust you more, and therefore, will allow you to do more things.
Did this help?

I wish I knew about the forum when I was new. This would have helped so much!
Your guide looks really helpful. I bet a lot of new scratchers are going really appreciate it.
By the way, there are some uses of the word, ‘there’ should be changed to, ‘their.’ Other than that, I don't see anything else wrong.

Thanks! I feel like so of the information may be in another guide, so I'm not sure if it will be.
