What's NaNoWriMo??
Since the YWP doesn't really have much of a social media option this year, I decided to start up a thread for the nano participants on scratch. Feel free to come here for inspiration/a much needed break/bragging about the word count you just hit.

New to the discussion? Introduce yourself! Feel free to pick and choose which questions you want to answer, this wasn't intended as a form, just a fun questionnaire so we can get to know you.
What's your (nano) username? Are you active on the forums?
How many years have you done nano?
How many years have you won nano?
What's your word count goal this year?
What's your nano project about this year?
Favorite author in the pep talk lineup?
Favorite book?

You in the mood for a writing sprint? Personally, I feel like they're just going to clutter up the forum, however, there's a studio over here that does them.

I can't wait to meet everybody!

This is my second year doing nano, my first was in 2013 and I won that year.
My word count goal this year is 40,001.
I've actually never read any of the books from the pep talkers this year, and the only one I've heard of before is Jenny Han.
My favorite books are probably the Missing series by Margaret Peterson Haddix. It's a very nicely done series.

Glanced at this and just wanted to say that this year in my class a lot of people are doing NaNoWriMo as a project of theirs. I'm not I'm doing something else (game dev) but if I wasn't then I would probably try out NaNoWriMo. Sounds fun

It's the greatly abbreviated version of NaNoWriMo, because that's a lot to type out. It stands for National Novel Writing Month. You can find out more about nano here.

I'm so glad someone's made this thread!!! I hope it gets some attention! I'm going to make a wordpress blog for the same reason, too, for people who aren't on Scratch. If you have a wordpress account, I can add you when I make it.

How many years have you done nano? This year is my second.
How many years have you won nano? *blushes* Um…. Zero….
What's your word count goal this year? 30,000. I will probably change it in a few days though, because last year my goal started as 40,000 and I changed it to 15,000. I'm waaaaayyyyy too ambicious for my own good. (sorry I can't spell)
What's your nano project about this year? It's called Talent. It's about this girl named Bridget who lives in a world where if you have a talent you are sent to a school where you do nothing but train it for the rest of your life and are isolated from your family and friends. Bridget is a really fast runner, but she has to hide to stay out of the school.
Favorite author in the pep talk lineup? I've never heard of any of them.
Favorite book? HARRY POTTER HARRY POTTER HARRY POTTER HARRY POTTER HARRY POTTER!!!!!!!!!

What's your word count goal this year? 30,000.
What's your nano project about this year? A highly esteemed scientist named Augustyn is trapped in a spacecraft near Uranus after an accident that killed all of the crew but himself. Meanwhile James and Mariona are trying to get communications with him and bring him back home safely. Not known to anyone but Augustyn, an asteroid is on its course to Earth. Will James and Mariona be able to get him back in time? Or will the world be destroyed without much warning?
Favorite book? The Circle Trilogy
YWP NaNoWriMo name: Valcor

I actually have to get it done on the 20th because I am leaving on that day. I do actually plan to make it to my goal this year, last year I made it, my goal then was 25,000.

To see my work on the book go to: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1W4ZniRl88bVVa9zRuGON-r3fWpELYqKIGSSrN7wwmeM/edit#

The Circle Trilogy is a trilogy written by Ted Dekker. He is my favorite author, one of his most known books is Thr3e. His characters are astonishing. He is great with suspense. He is an amazing storyteller all around. I also like some of Brian Davis's books. I don't read too much fantasy, but those books are amazing.

How many years have you won nano? ^^^
What's your word count goal this year? 15000 (I thought that was such an ambitious goal until I saw that you guys were doing 40,000+. Now I feel stupid. Don't judge, it's my first novel)
What's your nano project about this year? A year in the life of a 13 year old girl. (Friends, boys and growing up)
Favorite author in the pep talk lineup? (Errr… I'm new at this, soooooo, I have absolutely no idea what this is. )
Favorite book? Shiver series by Maggie Steifvater (I'm pretty sure that's how you spell her name)

Don't worry! My first year, I wound up doing 10,000. Trust me, if I ACTUALLY make 40,000, I'm going to be insanely impressed with myself. XP

Yeah, I checked the first few pages and didn't see anything, I saw that this morning and decided to just hope nobody noticed.

*bows* thank you. I'm actually planning an official scratch nanowrimo for January, for those who aren't allowed to use the official site/want to do it again/didn't hear about nano until halfway through november.

This is my first year doing nano, so I have never won it. My word count goal is 2000 words and I haven't seen any NaNoWriMo projects or pep talks. I love an infamous book series called Warriors (it's all over Scratch right now) and am currently writing a fanfiction for it on Wattpad.

It would be even odder if it was 4,444. That would be fun!

I'm really liking my goal of 30,000 this year… It's so simple. Just write 1,000 words a day! Last year I had some crazy number, I think it was like 1,300 something??? Then I switched to 15,000 and I wrote 500 daily and that was so much better…

I'm doing nano this year! I've done it once before and won it then. My goal was 15000 >:D. Thus my small word count, I'm doing it again this year with the WCG of 50000.

Have you seen the HP word crawl? I don't know if there are any HP fans here, but last year someone found it on the adult site and reposted it on YWP. It was only after NaNo was over that I found it though, but today I remembered it and hoped someone had saved it and posted it on the new site. Fortunately, they did. I'm working on it right now. I'm eating some chocolate frogs (well, a kit-kat in real life) and waiting for the trolly lady to refill the cart with pumpkin pastries (irl waiting for my mom to finish baking pumpkin muffins.
