i mean to defend cheese-duck algebra is kinda cool because you get to think about WHY and how it applies to other things, think about what importance it has and test yourself figuring it out. it's hard and that's what I like about it. I mean I can totally see why you don't like it but still.

Lol. The kid who refuses to swear is insinuating multitudes of swears.

Seriously tho. Study island. The flash games sucked, even for flash games. The only fun one was Snake cuz you could run around and not even run into the answer (that's how you got to answer is by running into the block, which was an awful design decision, both game design and educational design). Everything else SUCKED.

And the tests SUCKED. They were awfully worded, and the answers were stupid, and the explanations were dumb…

AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON STUPID FRIKKIN LEARNING ARCHIPELAGO OR WHATEVER THAT GODAWFUL FLASH-ANIMATED “SHOW” WAS CALLED.

Ugh. For… well, literally as long as I can remember, we've had to endure Study island. Thank goodness we don't anymore.

In fact I wouldn't be surprised if that thing made you dumber.

But at least it's not like that one show in Origami Yoda (yalls remember that series? I'll admit, for a middle school school-story series, it was pretty great. Big Nate was ok too. Diary of a Wimpy Kid gets further away from “good” than I'd care to admit…

Anyways, I have more trig stuff -_- byyyee
Yes. I still do Study Island. It is PAINFUL.

Good riddance.
(our school district used to do it but apparently they cancelled the subscription or whatever and i'm like. thank goodness.)
Y'all are going on about Study Island like it's the EduFun program from Origami Yoda. What is it, exactly?
EduFun THATS what that was called thanks.

Ok. So. Study Island was the first real attempt at integrating technology into the curriculum.

By which I mean, they put tests online.

You're given a (poorly worded) question in whatever subject you choose, and you're given four buttons for answers A, B, C, and D. They're terribly sensitive with huge frikkin hitboxes, and whatever you click is your final answer. It tells you whether you're right or wrong, and then you can click the explain button.

A window pops up if you do, and this huge block of text tells you how to do the problem. So it's basically useless.

Oh and you choose how many questions you want. The default is 20. My sixth grade communications teacher (now I think it's just English, when I was in sixth grade we had lit and communications, basically reading and English? I think? Idk) required fourty.

And it doesn't throw away your last attempt.

So I had a tough time on one cuz I'm bad at stuff sometimes and study Island is awful. And so I had 70% at 150 questions total. 70 is the minimum to get a blue ribbon, which means you passed. And I barely got that.

Then they also had games. Which had like, 5-second time limits per question (answer a question, do an easy, mind-numbing puzzle that NEVER CHANGED like the question 1 puzzle is the same EVERY TIME and the q2 one is the SAME EVERY TIME and so on) even on the circuitry game and really actually difficult ones like that. The rest are super easy or just plain stupid, often both (they also had a really transparent meta (most effective tactic available)).

And then they found Khan Academy. Khan is cool. He really earnestly tried, and today it's actually pretty decent.

Back then it SUCKED.

And study Island saw it, and they tried it.

And a horrible monster was born.

They made a horrible flash animation show. The only one I watched was the gorilla dude who's like French or something, and always ends sentences with Yknow the stereotypical French “hau hau” like Yknow. And this surfer dude. The gorilla had found a triangle and he's like “hey, what's this, hau” and the surfer kids like “that's a triangle” and the gorilla responds yes, hau it– hey, how'd you know, hau hau?“ And so the surfers like ”well you see, when you measure the angles of a triangle, they add up to 180“.

OR YOU COULD COUNT THE SIDES YOU IDIOT

and so at the end the surfers like ”anyways, where'd you find this?“ And the gorilla responds ”maybe the triangle tree? Hau hau hau-hau (laughing but so cringy)" and just… it's cancer in video form.
EWGH I'M gLaD I DON'T HAVE THAT. Also we're rid of Puzzled Penguin this year so that's AMAZING. Please tell me you guys have no idea what that is and have never had to experiance that kind of tourture.

Do not meddle with the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy, and good with ketchup.

and so at the end the surfers like ”anyways, where'd you find this?“ And the gorilla responds ”maybe the triangle tree? Hau hau hau-hau (laughing but so cringy)" and just… it's cancer in video form.
EWGH I'M gLaD I DON'T HAVE THAT. Also we're rid of Puzzled Penguin this year so that's AMAZING. Please tell me you guys have no idea what that is and have never had to experiance that kind of tourture.
Oh my goodness looks like i didn't get the full wrath of study island.

i got the badly worded questions tho. like you'd just sit there asking “what on earth are you supposed to do!!!??”
and it also seemed like they kept reusing the same few questions for every single topic. like you'd get the same one five times. which is ok when it's super easy, but sometimes it's this big hairball of unclear wording and disgusting mixed numbers (yknow like 263 789/1336). and then sometimes you do a hecka big ton of progress and then you view the topics ‘n’ stuff and it hasnt updated. and then you have to sign back in for it to update.
also the interface sucked.
(speaking of bad interfaces, have any of you used ALEKS before? like the new interface actually looks pretty nice. but the old one was like. oh gosh. please. also it's almost as patronizing as the other program i was talking about before, which was IXL in case you were wondering. but overall not bad.)

Oh you poor child… don't worry, it'll be over soon I promise!

Has it at least gotten better tho?
nooo we don't have that thank the dear lord our God it sounds horrid
ahh Study Island.

Oh you poor child… don't worry, it'll be over soon I promise!

Has it at least gotten better tho?
nooo we don't have that thank the dear lord our God it sounds horrid
ahh Study Island.

Wow. I'm blessed to be homeschooled. Thank you, Lord Jesus.

And this surfer dude. and so at the end the surfers like ”anyways, where'd you find this?“ And the gorilla responds ”maybe the triangle tree? Hau hau hau-hau (laughing but so cringy)" and just… it's cancer in video form.
EWGH I'M gLaD I DON'T HAVE THAT. Also we're rid of Puzzled Penguin this year so that's AMAZING. Please tell me you guys have no idea what that is and have never had to experiance that kind of tourture.

i got the badly worded questions tho. like you'd just sit there asking “what on earth are you supposed to do!!!??”
and it also seemed like they kept reusing the same few questions for every single topic. like you'd get the same one five times. which is ok when it's super easy, but sometimes it's this big hairball of unclear wording and disgusting mixed numbers (yknow like 263 789/1336). and then sometimes you do a hecka big ton of progress and then you view the topics ‘n’ stuff and it hasnt updated. and then you have to sign back in for it to update.

No. Just, no.
i took algebra 1 online and it was ok i guess…
i mean i'm taking alg 2 this year and so far it's ok, but i've only had like 3 classes…

not saying what grade im in but i will say that im basically a 2-year-old
GAHHHHHHHHH I TAKE THAT BACK NO IT IS MOST DEFINITELY NOT OK.
or like maybe i'm just mad but
WE HAVE TO USE THIS STUPID PROGRAM AND I JUST SPENT LIKE 45 MINUTES DOING LIKE 16 ABSOLUTE VALUE INEQUALITIES, WHICH ARE PRETTY EASY EXCEPT THEY TAKE FOREVER AND MAKE ME CRANKY, AND IT GIVES YOU LIKE THIS ‘SMART’ SCORE OR SOMETHING, AND I HAVE TO GET AT LEAST 90%, EXCEPT AFTER 45 MINUTES AND 16 PROBLEMS I ONLY HAD A 49% OR SOMETHING AND MY PATIENCE WAS AT THE COMPLETE SNAPPING POINT, AND THE FACT THAT THE PROGRAM SOUNDS SO PATRONIZING LIKE IT ASSUMES EVERYONE IS A 2-YEAR-OLD WITH ANGER MANAGEMENT ISSUES (wait thats basically me lol) DOES NOT HELP AT ALL, LIKE WHEN YOU GET SOMETHING RIGHT IT'S LIKE “KEEP IT UP, KIDDO, HEHEHEHEHEHEHUHUHUHUH YOU CAN DO IT TRY YOUR BEST GIGGLE GIGGLE” AND THEN WORSE, WHEN YOU GET SOMETHING WRONG IT'S LIKE “AH'M SORRY SWEETIE, THAT'S INCORRECT HONEY SWEETIE CUPCAKE FLUFFY SPARKLE GIGGLE BALL OF SUGAR SOMETHIN OR WHATEVER WITH EXTRA RAINBOW SPRINKLEZ ON THE TOP ALSO DID I MENTION I'M BASICALLY CALLING YOU DIABETES IN A BOWL” AND BASICALLY EVERYTHING ADDS UP TO ME SCREAMING ALL THIS CR4P OUT BECAUSE I CAN'T SCREAM IN REAL LIFE AND I TRY TO BE A CIVILIZED PERSON BUT I'M NOT AND I'M IMPATIENT AND I HOPE THIS HOMEWORK ISN'T GRADED BECAUSE I'D FLUNK IT WITH MY STUPID 49%

aight i'm done now, you can uncover your ears
i mean to defend cheese-duck algebra is kinda cool because you get to think about WHY and how it applies to other things, think about what importance it has and test yourself figuring it out. it's hard and that's what I like about it. I mean I can totally see why you don't like it but still.
Oh my gosh… do you guys have to do Study Island still???????????

BACK IN MY DAY, WE HAD THIS AWFUL <expletive> THING CALLED <expletive> STUDY ISLAND AND IT <expletive> SUCKED I HATED IT SO <expletive> MUCH

Oh you poor child… don't worry, it'll be over soon I promise!

Has it at least gotten better tho?
nooo we don't have that thank the dear lord our God it sounds horrid
ahh Study Island.

Wow. I'm blessed to be homeschooled. Thank you, Lord Jesus.

One time i decided to fall off a bridge to test my body's durability. little did i know that Nick Cage also had the same idea. so here we are, about to jump off, when i notice hes standing there. im about to shout “hi” at him, when, out of nowhere, Darth Vader drop kicks him in the back, sending him hurdling down a thousand feet into the mouth of a giant Narnian salamander, who promptly spits him out, screaming that his mom's tooth hurts too much for actors to be wearing lederhosen. Mr. Cage got extremely triggered by this. so much so that he punched a hole through space and time to grab the lungs out of Michael Jackson's body. he died right then and there, leaving the human race in immortal agony. he was telling the Cerberus a joke, one that would have knocked his socks off, thereby freeing him from the imprisoning gardens of Buckingham Palace, and bringing an end to the imperious rule of Sir Tomblepop XXVIII, known then at the time as “Rambo the Bodacious”. but no! he was killed then and there, and no one has been able to figure out the rest of the joke. anyways, Nick Cage realized just what a horrible thing he had done, and stabbed his spleen with Michael Jackson's lung, piercing his book-constructed bulletproof vest with the infamous weapon. every single My Little Pony screamed in a perfect B flat, which, coupled with the toasting of the sacred rye bread, guarded for thousands of years by the mighty Communist Bacteria, summoned the Dark Lord. his name is too terrible to mention. but well mention it anyways. its syllables dared not be spoken by human tongue. in english, they are rendered as: Justin Bieber. the Dark Lord burst forth from the depths of pulp fiction, killing every single son and daughter of Leroy Jenkins, fallen king and savior of Pluto, the 5,379th state of the U.S. the arms were gathered. the beacons were lit. the cupcakes were decorated. war was coming. with all its glory, and all its ballistic pumpkins. the legions of Parrotheads marched in their formations, bearing the ghost of Snapchat as their flag. war chants sounded through all the universe as they blazed a warpath of bad puns, annihilating the cyborg dinosaurs once and for all. nothing could stop the psychedelic tide. not even a mighty blast of the Trumpet of Van Halen. all hope was lost.

and then, one day, a hero stepped forth from the void. he lifted his sword in the air and declared: “I. AM. SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!!!” and charged headfirst guns blazing into the oncoming cloud of nyan cats and Aztec Memelords. the war raged for centuries. thousands upon thousands of innocent dwellers of the Fortress of Solitude were slain. the two armies never gave up. the more killed, the more ushered onto the battlefield. even at the fourth down, they stood fast and kept pushing. 3-pointers and hat tricks did not deter Michael Jordan and his Merry Men. in fact, with every point scored, they raved harder and harder, the dubstep remixes of Dora the Explorer, sung in the native tongue of the Australian people, performed onstage every Saturday at precisely 2:00 on Main Street, Tanzania. it was a magnificent spectacle to every onlooker. and then, as suddenly as it had started, the war ceased. the party raged for 9,000 years, 327 days, 8 months, 2 weeks, 5 days, 3 hours, 1 minute and 20 seconds, as they drank and merrily sang Wrecking Ball, which had recently found to have actually been written by Gandalf the Grey, of whom plagiarized it from the original cast of Power Rangers. however nobody cared because they were all assassinated by King Henry VIII in 1937, the year Optimus Prime lead the anchovies to victory against the Beanie Babies, who apparently stole the Stargate from him, but nobody really knew for sure. actually, thirteen years later it was discovered that it was Mewtwo who stole it, and sold it on the black market to Bernie Sanders for the small price of a million Rupees. now, i know what youre all thinking. with all this random stuff, where in the world does Keemstar come into play? well, im here to tell you he comes in right now. Keemstar is the sole catalyst for every event so far mentioned. he hired Darth Vader and Grover Cleveland to drop kick Nick Cage. that is, until he found out Grover Cleveland's been dead for 40 years, and that the random head he had hanging from his windowsill is in fact not Robocop's but Cleveland's. suddenly Keemstar saw that everything now made sense. the universe unfolded like a game of chess with your state's top player before him, revealing every way in which his butt had just been wooped and handed to him on a cadmium platter. the world was his burrito, and he was not willing to let some random guy break into his gas station to steal it, no matter how big that guy's crush on that lady was.

for many years, Keemstar lived happily. the four nations were at peace. and then… then… THEN… THEEEENNNNN… then some dude from Serbia shot the duke of wellington and started the Persian Gulf War. and this whole process repeats itself, starting with the secret clone army manufactured by B.L.I. and Aperture Science going insane and forcing every citizen of Thailand over the height of 6 feet and under the height of 4 inches to wear duck hats with spirogyra covering them to every prom they went to for the rest of your life. not their lives, your life.

oh dear. it appears my chupacabra skeleton is done choking Sans. i guess i should go clean that up now. now remember kids: the next time a creepy man in a giant SUV tries to give you uranium, dont take it. instead, take whatever else hes offering, because uranium is bad for your respiratory system, especially if you dont have asthma.
Hold my drink.
Once upon a peculiar time, a man whose name is not of importance was called to a meeting. The meeting consisted of Chuck Norris, Harry Potter, and Jonathan Harker. Norris pulled out a gun and shot Potter, Potter jinxed Harker, and Harker pulled out a crucifix and started chanting in Latin. Then Skulduggery Pleasant came in and punched Norris. It was a sight to see. Then, an eighteen-wheeler crashed through, with Garth Brooks singing “Friends In Low Places” at the top of his lungs, and ran over everyone in the room, killing them instantly, except Norris. Garth immediatly started singing “Papa Loved Mama” at the top of his lungs. Chuck Norris roundhouse kicked him in the face, and splattered his brains on the windshield. Chuck Norris then traveled back in time to 1864, and prevented Harker from going to Castle Dracula, and then went to the 23 century and killed Captain Kirk, for lo! Kirk is a butthead. The Doctor came to stop him from destroying @Blobfishes993's favorite fando, ut Chuck Norris was on a roll. He stole the Doctor's T.A.R.D.I.S., then roundhouse kicked the Pharisee's for dissing Jesus. He traveled for 209 years. Norris had been dead for 39, but Death was afraid of Norris, so Death didn't tell Norris that he was dead. ,AND Chuck Norris was killed by Voldemort, who was then shot by Dusk, who was splashed with Holy Water by, surprise! Spock. Spock then lived to become President of the United States of America, soon to be replaced by Bilbo Baggins. Javert arrested Bilbo because of his name, and became a hero. Erik, jealous, strangled Javert with a Punjab Lasso, then was killed by Romanian gypsies, Henry Jekyll leading them.
AND it appears as though Edward Hyde is reading this over my shoulder, so I shall sign off. I bid you, adieu.

Oh you poor child… don't worry, it'll be over soon I promise!

Has it at least gotten better tho?
nooo we don't have that thank the dear lord our God it sounds horrid
ahh Study Island.

Story starter: The day the world started to end I woke up to find the bright light of the sun shining through the window on the west side of my room. I stumbled out of bed, thinking the nausea and disorientedness were just morning things. By noon, they still hadn't gone away. I thought maybe I was sick, but my cat, Maybelle, seemed off balance as well. That's weird. I thought cats were supposed to be graceful. At around three o'clock I went outside, thinking a run would clear my head. It didn't. By nine o'clock, I had decided on just sitting outside; being active was too hard. I looked to the east to see the sun setting. That's when it clicked. The east. I scrambled back inside and fumbled for the TV remote. No signal. What had happened? I reached for my phone on the counter. Maybe it could pick something up. The connection was fuzzy, but it was there. I opened the CNN app and nearly dropped my phone as I saw the top headline.

I opened the CNN app and nearly dropped my phone as I saw the top headline.

yeah, thats an event that could easily kill millions, as well as do some nasty things to the environment. i think. idk, the biomes are fairly dependent on the trade winds and things caused by the rotation.

however, switching the poles does NOT lead to armaggeddon. all you bloody commies trying to fill our heads with falsehoods.

“Run,” they whisper to me, their voices taunting. “Run.”
I scream.
I cry.
I fall.
They sing to me. “Run, darlin', run.”
I can't.
There's no way to run forever.
Maybe I can…
What if I…
I try to free myself.
Crawl away.
Beg for mercy.
God have mercy.
I need to fly.
"No, darlin'. Run.“
The need.
The hunger.
I can't fly.
But I can run.
And that's what I'll do.
I'll run.
I'll run as fast as I can.
I'll run from this cursed land.

No.
You a merely a dream.
