[Discussion] Embedding scratch projects // Remixes

I do love making projects in scratch during my free time. If I don't want people to remix them, I put them on my website. I always used 1.4, because 2.0 lagged for me, but I downloaded the 2.0 offline editor. I made a quite chaotic little thing (which would be normally against the Scratch rules due to the content I put there) and I want to embed it on my website. I tried the way of 1.4 but it didn't work, and the player got quite buggy when in contact with .sb2 files.

To Scratch developers:
Are you really not willing for us to share our projects elsewhere than Scratch? I think Scratch has enough popularity to let others embed their projects on their own websites. Is there a reason?

I've also seen that the resources to embed 1.4 on different websites have been taken down (perhaps upon the release of 2.0).
Don't understand me wrong, 2.0 is great, but if you could embed it on different websites (I'd be fine without the Cloud Variables function) it would be even greater.

I don't like having my projects remixed because I don't want people to modify them in a way I don't like (such as adding useless things or, if it is a game, make a “hacked” version with infinite items etc etc), and sometimes in turn get even more popularity than the original project (which hasn't happened to me yet).

You might have some problems with my issues, but that's just me. I can be quite picky about the available features.
Discuss.

You can embed 2.0, I just haven't tried it yet. I'll get back if nobody else does.

Disabling remixes will not happen, period, to be blunt. I'll reply with more details if you'd like.

Glad to hear.
Could you tell me how?

It only works if the project is shared on the website though… you have to share the project and go to its page, then select Share to beside the love-it icon.

Alternatively, you can always link the 2.0 offline editor and the file of your project for the viewers to download and play.

I see.

You guys think we could embed projects without uploading them to scratch in the future?

You can wait and see if it ever appears on the issue/feature tracker here: http://scratchexp.media.mit.edu/projects/scratch2-website/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&issues=1&q=embed.

Well, if you're bored, you could probably write your own flash executor for .sb2 files and put that on your website.
