I don't see any point with private messaging, allowed or not. If you want to chat with someone you know, do it by email or some other way. All comments and posts are supposed to be public so that no one can say anything outrageous/rude about someone or something and get away with it.

While you might not use private messaging for bullying, someone else might. Private messaging is hard to moderate, because no one can see what goes on inside.

What if someone decides to spam another person, with “hello” x 9001?

There's no ignore list now, so how are the victims of the spammer going to manage it? Yes, they can contact the ST, but it is still a moderation issue!

We know that Elibelly1234. What is being said, is that private messaging will NOT be allowed to protect EVERYBODY on the Scratch website. Please view the link that was posted earlier. The Scratch Team have made their decision
