Wording Suggestion

In the editor, there are options for “download to your computer” and “upload from your computer”. This wording can be confusing, since you may accidentally misread the “to” in the “download to your computer” and think that it is the other button. Although this is only a small inconvenience, it can be annoying and confusing. I propose that the buttons should be switched to “import from your computer” and “export to your computer”. It is much harder to get confused with this wording, and advanced programs often use the words “import” and “export”, so it could even help new programmers get into more advanced programs quicker. What do you think? x'3

It doesn't matter, and younger Scratchers might not know what the words “import” or “export” mean.

I agree, it's not very important, but I thought I would suggest it anyways. Also, it's better to learn what they mean now, and the words “upload” and “download” might be new to them, too, so I'm not sure if it matters if they know the words or not.

I think, though, that “import” and “export” are used in a lot of programs for when they are importing/exporting from file types that don't belong to that program.

I guess this isn't true for all programs, but probably the more correct verb would be “save to computer” and “open from computer”, and “download” and “upload” make it clearer exactly what is happening.

I guess they often are used for that, but I thought they might make a bit more sense. I guess not. Nevermind then ;P

Downloading always means saving a file from online to your computer, and uploading always means saving a file from your computer to online. If you get confused between the two, just try to remember that the Internet is “up” because these days, it has much to do with the cloud.

“Save” and “open” are technically simpler words, but Scratch already uses the word “save” to refer to saving your project to the servers. This ambiguity could arguably make the options more confusing.
