The fellow artists on scratch who don't have any other animation or decent art programs only use scratch aren't able to do the best they want while animating or drawing, so I've made a list of good tools that scratch could add to make it's art better:
-Magic wand and lasso tool, to make it so you can just draw in the lines instead of all over
-Air brush
-Opacity
This was edited, for I decided to get rid of some of my stress and I realize an airbrush and opacity is fine. Please do not be rude in your comment, I've just started middle school and am very stressed at the amount of homework I got on the first day XP

Sorry, but Scratch isn't really intended to be an art tool. Scratch was created as an educational programming language, and designed to prevent mistakes that often turn potential programmers away from text-based languages, such as syntax errors. Adding more art features doesn't promote the purpose of Scratch.

While scratch is about mainly programming it is also about art and animations not to mention a lot of the project on scratch are art projects.
So I don't think that lots of complex things needed to be added but adding a few more tools would improve scratch for these users as well as it letting scratchers get to experience more of the aspects of creating projects and games, it would also improving the graphics that are used in projects.
Also a lot of people join scratch to create art and while it is not its full purpose they do, a lot of those people will then try using more of the programming side of scratch thus promoting programming.

No support as per Ziggy741's reason. If you care that much, you could buy Photoshop.

I only support more paint tools, since Scratch isn't about art. Advanced image editors, such as FireAlpaca, Paint.NET, and GIMP, are available for free.

Support for the paint tools, but no support for artist mode, since Scratch is a coding program.

No support. Scratch isn't really for art, you should just import a picture you made a program (there are decent art programs that are free and are supported with all operating systems.)

I Understand you guys, but some people want decent animations on their projects. and some people CANT buy photoshop and scratch would be nothing like it. I'm NOT being sarcastic, @1matsulover and this is just a suggestion, and I realize scratch is an educational programming website, but some people want better art and don't want to open up another program then load the art/animation in.

Do you mind reading his/her comment again? He is supporting the tools, he just isn't supporting the new mode for “artist mode”. See, Scratch wasn't intended to make super great art. After all, sprites at the time were pretty basic and it wasn't until recently that Pocket Monsters made their game have actual animated sprites.

I would like an explanation on how the first two those tools work. I am just a beginning artist and haven't gotten into the digital art phase. Also, I notice there are different types of “lassos” that select doing very different things, so please explain the type you want.

I apologize for how I wrote that comment, I wasn't thinking because no one really supported me, and I that that comment was directed towards me. This is adding to my stress of my first year in middle school, so I apologize for that

Some people can't buy photoshop, and it's hard to use. I am only asking for opacity and an airbrush.

Full support for the opacity! I've never needed to use an airbrush (because I don't care about graphics TOO much), but you don't know how many times I've wanted to use coloured glass or something similar inside my sprites but couldn't because there was no opacity option. It would make sprites easier to make, and reduce the amount of colours you'd have to change on your base sprites for a simple transparent effect. It would be simple, too! Just add an opacity slider on the bottom, from 0% (Invisible) to 100% (Normal).

Yes, but not in Vector, which is what most artists use.

Support, support, support! Other programs are hard or cost money or have to be downloaded. I'm an artist myself, and my parents don't allow me to download/buy programs.

There is a magic wand, but it is not like the kind I'm wanting, that lets you stay in the lines.
