1. About

Stranded is a screen scrolling survival based game.
It takes place on a island
The player will have to make use of the plants, animals, and sand around him/her
The island should contain ores and various edible and non-edible plants
The player is able to use raw materials to craft useful objects
The player should be able to craft structures and start fires
The player should be able to replant all types of trees
It is a platformer (Left/Right scrolling only)

4. Notes

Nothing should be added to the game without written approval from a manager. Otherwise, stick to the assignments!

Important for programmers
- I don't want the construction in the game to be like Minecraft in the way that the player places down tiles and I don't want the player to be able to equip sand, stone, coal ore, etc. since there is really no reason to. I think that shelters should be craft-able and place-able to appear similar to the way the trees do.

Important for programmers, animators, pixel artists
- I don't want many strictly melee weapons (sword, knife, etc.) Since there won't be many hostile creatures, strictly offensive melee weapons would be obsolete. Weapons like bows and javelins are fine for killing birds and fish, and knives are fine for tools. I think that knifes should be hold-able and do some damage and javelins could be used as a melee weapon as well as ranged but most animals should avoid the player anyway.

Important for programmers
- I would rather that the crafting be a bit more involved. For example, if the player were to make a spear, they should have to sharpen a stone a tie it to a stick instead of just combining a rock and a stick. I request that lashings are added to the game as well as a lot of grass on the forest parts of the island to harvest the lashings from.

- The ores I'd like to have in the game are:

6.Assignments

7.Bugs
- An excessive amount of lag is generated when attempting to break a block
- A lack of stones appearing on the ground
- The campfire icon is way too large
- Clicking on a campfire in the inventory causes it to disappear

8.Ideas
- Grinding stone for sharpening chisels, knives, axes, picks as they degrade
- Clay for making pots and jugs for boiling, storing and purifying water
- XP system, For example the player can get better at starting fires, archery, fishing?
- Lashing made from grass. Used for making almost all tools and shelters

So, what do you think? I'd love to join a project like this! This is the kind of game I'd love to make, but is too big for me to do by myself.
