Scratch Reminders
SCRATCH REMINDERS
By: @Hope4Tomorrow
What is that?

Scratch Reminders would be a feature where you could ask for alerts to do certain things. You would probably be able to do this from your messages section or My Stuff. You'd enter what and when you'd like to be reminded and get a message telling you what you said.
Why?

Not only am I an occasional procrastinator but I'm also absent-minded. I feel terrible when I promise or post when I'm going to post a project, and don't finish in time, because I forgot about it. Or don't start it until weeks later when my brain decides to remind me about it. And who can honestly say they've never forgot something - scratch or IRL. A little reminder could only help.
Building Off of This

This could be even more advanced. There are so many things you could do with this:
- Looping Reminders: Set a reminder to message you multiple times. (Daily, weekly, etc.)
- Urgency: If you plan on sending yourself multiple reminders , then you may not want to struggle with deciding which to do first. So, when typing the reminder you can select how urgent it is. This could be changed later.
- Cancel: Of course you don't want to be reminded of a task you've already completed, so why would you do that. It would be useful to see reminders you set for yourself and cancel them if you completed it before the reminder was set to come out OR to turn off a looped reminder.
when this sprite clicked
ask [Enter Reminder] and wait
set [Reminder v] to (answer)
broadcast [Reminder#1 v]
when I receive [Reminder#1 v]
wait until <[Reminder Due date] = [Now]>
if <not <[Reminder]=[Canceled]>> then
say (Reminder) for (Looped) secs
Support &/Or Give Feedback

I know that some computers can remind you, but because it's scratch alerts it would show up on your messages regardless of the computer, because you can view the scratch website on phones, tablets, etc.

Scratch Reminders
Semi-support, most computers / devices have a built-in alarm system, but it would be cool to have “Scratch Alarms”

Semi-support. This would be really neat, but most computers have alarm apps. You could try some sort of 3rd-party application that reminds you.

Scratch Reminders
Support, just as long as where it's placed won't be in the way of typical Scratch duties (perhaps My Stuff?)

Scratch Reminders
How to Create a clock that reminds us to wash our hands, Drink water and helps us to maintain hygiene in a day. When hand reaches a particular time it should display a message reminding us to do an activity in scratch

Now I'm not entirely sure if this suggestion fixes the problems to why this was rejected, but I would like to bring this up.
7.9 Pop-up alert that encourages users to take a break from screen timePlease read this.
Certainly too much computer time is not good for anyone. But, if someone is concerned about themselves or their children getting too much screen time, there are other methods that exist that can help encourage these healthy choices, such as external software or simple willpower. There is not a need to have such a warning built into Scratch, even if it is optional or able to be ignored.
