Due to the lack of a forum search feature, I cannot check if this is a duplicate. Please do let me know if this is one.

Sometimes, when you used to search the forums (which might be added back in) or when you are linked to a forum, you don't think about checking the date of the last post. I suggest you make a warning appear when you sccroll to the “Post” button, if the last post was more than 3 or 6 months old. Perhaps some red text that says “The last post was XXX ago. Please make sure you are adding to the topic! Scratch On!”

I would support it if the ‘submit’ button was in red, and under it was a note saying, ‘The last post was XXX. Please be careful of necroposting.’

This isn't preventing necroposting just making the user more aware of when the last post was. How about there isn't a warning if it is allowed?

Uh… that doesn't really make sense. If the search is fixed, then there will just be more necroposting.
