HELP!!!! How can I record sound???!??!!

I want to record sound, but every time I press the circle button, it won't record! Plz Hjalp!!!!! Hjalp=help

Does your browser have access to your microphone?

Here are the steps.

1. Click on the mic icon in the sounds tab.
2. Click on the black circle
3. Pop up appears asking “allow or deny?”
4. You choose “allow”
5. Click on the red circle
6. “Recording” appears in red letters and level meter on left side of sound editor shows a vertical green bar
7. You speak into mic making the green bar bounce
8. Press black square to stop recording
9. Waveform of sound is visible in sound editor

First, do this test.
Create a new project.
Open the sounds tab of sprite 1.
Click on the mic icon.
Click on the black circle.

Did the allow/deny pop up appear?

If yes, then everything is working like it should.

If no, then you have a problem, either with Flash, your browser, or your computer.

Because you're posting on an old topic and it's not really a scripting question. If you have a problem create a new topic but try to find a more appropriate forum and give details of your browser etc in case that's an issue - try another browser if you can.

You probably don't have the right microphone selected, or don't have one on your computer. If you have a laptop, it probably has one built in, but most desktop computers don't.
Oh, if you don't know, a desktop is your normal computer.

i can't get it to do any of this. I click the mic. and all it does is says “recording1” or “recording2” then doesn't let me do anything past then.

My browser / operating system: ChromeOS 9901.77.0, Chrome 62.0.3202.97, Flash 27.0 (release 0)

If it's not the microphone… does your computer have the microphone? Because some computers don't have it while others do
