This is great! How would I go about hosting a server like this on my computer?
Well we have our source code on our github page

Here is the NodeJS Version

Here is the Python Version
how would I run it? and would i need to configure my router ?
You would need to download either Python or Node, and then download and run the appropriate file. You do not need to configure your router. YOU MUST MODIFY THE SOURCE CODE AND SET THE USERNAME AND PASSWORD TO SOMETHING REAL.

Thanks for taking an interest

Python or Node as in the versions? Because i'm pretty sure you can't just download a programming language

gotcha. so would i just download the whole thing from github, download a compliler/interpreter, then run the file(s)?

Yes, but you must modify the lines of source code that set the username and password

k. i'm thinking about buying a raspberry pi, could that run it? also, does the computer need to be running 24/7 to maintain the servers?

Yes, if it isn't then any cloud changes will not be picked up while your server is off.

In the Node version at least, there is a JSON file for projects it is listening for

Yeah, a Pi can run it

The computer also needs to be running 24/7 if you want your service to stay running.

yes, I remember thanks you guys for 1) offering your servers, at least for a little while, and 2) explaining how to, eventually, set it up myself

Great! How would I specify the projects and variables I want to change in the source? Is there an example repo somewhere?

Not finished, but it will scan griffpatch's comments and a special project we make for words. We will then send the whitelist through cloud data to all projects, and we will update it if there are new words that are missing
