Also, any attempt for remixing projects made by themselves will result in an overwrite

Anyways, you can easily just put tag words in your Note/Credits. That way it'll show up in searches.

That's why the Scratch Team added a tag limit to Scratch 2.0 - some projects ended up having (literally) hundreds of tags. I believe that users other than the project creator could add them too. I agree with @agarraga - it would be nice to have more tags per project.

People often mention the tag spam in 1.4 whenever this suggestion is brought up. Actually, a large part of the tag spam in 1.4 came about because anyone could tag any project. As long as we only let owners tag projects there shouldn't be too much spam

You can use File → Save as a Copy to “remix” your own projects.

I wasn't around for 1.4 but the tag spam thing does sound pretty annoying.

To prevent spam, have a scrollbar and a limited height for the tag list.

You can already remix your own projects. There are projects on how to do it

I believe if you have 10 tags it would be messy. Also, if you want to create a copy of your project, you may go into the editor, File > Save as copy.
Then share it. You will have 2 projects.

More tags would be cool, but not something like 30, there's no need for all of them. Also, remixing your own project is possible, but only with some hacking methods with a second account. I think it's pretty useless, rince you remix a project to modify that project's scripts, while you can change YOUR scripts on YOUR project. Also, in the editor, there's the option “Save as a copy”, which clones that project and lets you edit the new copy.
