Broadcast being glitchy

in the following project, Sos V.9
at the momment i'm trying to merge Tron game into my project (i'm giving credit) everything else is working but for some reason the broadcast will broadcast but the recieving script will not not receive…

(EDIT) note i don't need the blue one to work just the orange cycle

Both of your sprites go to the same start position. Is that the problem?

bump! still no answer from ST

(edit) also it can't be my scripts as the broadcast is physicly not being recieved even after the broadcast has been sent

Hey botcrushur! We'd love to help, but there's so much work to be done on 2.0, and maintaining sites, that we just don't have time to help Scratchers with scripts.

However, it looks like TimothyLawyer was willing to take a look? Maybe he or other Scratchers can take a 2nd look at your scripts. Merging is tricky - there are lots of ways to get in trouble.

Of course it's possible it's a bug in Scratch, but I think it's really unlikely, since no one else has reported a similar issue. How about if you try to reduce the number of sprites / scripts, to see if you can isolate the problem? If it ends up being a broadcast issue, please post a project that shows the problem with a as few sprites and scripts as possible. Thanks!

ah but correction there has been another who has seen the deadly broadcast caper! may i present you > No big games? <this
he is in similar conditions as me (large projects) and we both are seeing broadcasts not being received i beg you lightnin it's not our scripts!! even if i do a when green flag clicked broadcast example, example is never recieved on the other end i have tried different code underneth that broadcast and nothing changes

i have checked my scripts but it looks like there might be a problem with yours (XD i made that last part on the spot)
and don't worry about not seeing the post i get how busy you guys have been

Hi, botcrusher

I think the problem is the two sprites start at the same position.

Blue is facing down, and either touches orange or touches edge.

Then blue does a ‘stop all’ block. So nothing else happens.

thank you timothy! for that alright so in the case of this one yest it was a problem with my scripts BUT i have noticed this on other big games and as i said above there are others having this issue so yes in this case it was me but i belive there is still a glitch and will keep looking
also there is another glitch, the receiving broadcasts are somtimes not lighting up which caused the confusion for that particular incident
but i am determined to find this bug!!! i will find it -_- well i guess one false bug led to the discovery of another

You're welcome botcrusher!

Good luck with the search for bugs.

The more we find and squash, the better Scratch will be!

For the reception highlight:

To give time enough for the receiver to light up, take the ‘stop all’ blocks out, or be sure they do not run right after receiving the broadcast.

Computers can do things faster than our eyes can see. A visual indicator beyond the usual highlighting could be warranted here.

Maybe wait until ST implements single stepping and see if it is still a problem then?
