3d projects
When you open scratch it could have a selection that asks you if you want a 2d project or a 3d project.
The 3d sprite/mesh design would be similar to the original sprite creator but in a corner it would have a 3d model that you can turn around. There would be (inside the costumes) sides and you can move the sides down, up and in any other direction. The square your project is shown in would be a cube and backgrounds would be similar to the sprites but they will be a cube that can grow, shrink and be transparent.
You will have something called a camera that is your point of view in the game. The camera can either be on a mesh, in the scenery or floating around the character.
The camera will be invisible in the project but in the editor it will be visible. The scripts will be mainly the same but some will change for example 10 steps will become 10 paces, there will be an added z axis.
you will be able (in the editor) to have a birds eye view or a ground view.
On the mesh there will be joints where the sprite can move like on a real human body.
If the scratch team reads this please comment on what you thought of my idea because I know that scratch could do with 3d and 2d projects. It would also be a big leap for the company that makes 3d projects lag a lot less and easier to make.
Ps: i know that this was rejected but i just wanted to say more about what it could be like if they changed their mind

8. 3D Scratch
Scratch is a language that is designed to be as easy as possible for beginners to pick up. Adding 3D would make the language extremely complicated, and much more difficult for beginners to understand. If you wish to try a 3D programming language, I recommend trying Alice.

Actually, Scratch is a very, very laggy engine. It would also be a big leap for the company that makes 3d projects lag a lot less and easier to make.

Sorry, I disagree. I'm guessing that since you posted this, you have never heard of Alice. Alice is a Scratch-like programming software for 3-D games. I do prefer Scratch, though. So, here is an idea. Think of X and Y like variables.
if <(X) = [10]> thenSo, you could basically make a Z variable and do some custom blocks and such, and tada!
move [10] steps

Well, they rejected the avatars in forums idea but they still added it. However, adding 3D will not be an exception, unlike avatars in forums.
