Hold on, Scratch Team… From what I've heard, doing this collaboration with Google will cause Google's search engine to get worse. But anyways, I hope for the best…
This collaboration will have no impact on search either for Scratch or for Google.

Also, please keep your posts/comments more respectful. My feelings have been hurt. (Note to Mres: There's been an ongoing argument because of a Suggestions topic I made warning against collabing with Google.)
I'm really sorry that you have been hurt by some of the arguments that have been generated from our announcement. I really appreciate your feedback and hope that you'll feel welcome to reach out should you have questions or concerns in the future.

The argument wasn't the fault of the Scratch Team and its decision. I don't blame you all for what occurred in the argument. Also, please keep your posts/comments more respectful. Will the new website design be completed to coincide with Scratch 3.0 (like how the website was redesigned for 2.0)?

No, the two projects are happening asynchronously from each other. You'll probably start to see more website updates even before you see 3.0.

Yeah, that's a screenshot of the iPad version, which is set default to the Jr style of coding. But you can change it.No, but it's inspired by ScratchJr. It's actually Scratch Blocks using the horizontal layout (grammar?).OMGGGGGGG SCRATCH 3.0 HYPE IT LOOKS SO AWESOMEEEEEEEisn't that junior?

Also, that's the only screenshot we have of Scratch 3.0, so we don't know what the desktop version looks like yet.

it will be based on HTML5 (moving away from Flash). We hope to start rolling out Scratch 3.0 sometime during 2017.
This is exciting news.

I can't wait for this. This might remedy some scratcher's concerns about advanced programming on scratch by letting us creating a fork easier (I'm thinking calling it Open-Scratch, Operand or DataScratch) or even better have an automatically loading extension (Which I'm assuming is possible after seeing community blocks) that have more complicated blocks while displaying a subtle alert that some blocks might be difficult to understand. I want this to happen because advanced users want advanced features not because they want to turn scratch into the next block-based JavaScript or Python, it's because they don't want to leave the amazing community of scratch while still learning. I think Scratch Blocks could be the opportunity for this to happen.

Wait, it can't be 3.0, it should be 2.1, unless… (Face lights up)

I'm hosting a compiled version of scratch-blocks on my server, so you can play with what they have so far:
https://cdn.asun.co/utils.asun.co/scratch-blocks/tests/horizontal_playground.html
https://cdn.asun.co/utils.asun.co/scratch-blocks/tests/vertical_playground.html
https://cdn.asun.co/utils.asun.co/scratch-blocks/tests/multi_playground.html
(if they aren't working because you're using Windows XP or stupid corporate/school proxies, remove the cdn.asun.co part from the URL)
