new block idea [keyframe animation]
for number 4, all of the options include… 1. smooth it out. 2. keep it rough. (keep it rough means that it just switches between the 2 frames, while ‘smooth it out’ means that the block makes it a fluid motion.
If you're seeing this signature, that means I've come out of my social anxiety hole.
Also, I edit the Scratch Wiki. Check it out sometime it's cool I guess.

switch costume to [ v]
And how can you switch to a costume that isn't a part of your sprite?

Your current block suggestion is: i don't see what you mean
transition [sprite v][costume v] ... [sprite v][costume v] ... ::looksBut how can a sprite transition into a costume of another sprite? It would end up in a state of a costume of another sprite which is impossible, and the extra “sprite” drop down also increases the block's length.

Tweening (I think that's what this suggestion is?) would be a nice feature, but I can't see it happening given the way costumes work in Scratch currently.

Support but no support, because I would REALLY like to see this in Scratch, but there are just too many “What if”s. As people pointed out, what would
I believe it's also called keyframing.
(costume #)report during the animation, or what would happen if you transitioned between two COMPLETELY different costumes, or which sprite would the
transition between two spritesblock go in?

use a shopWhat does ‘smooth it out’ mean? You know how it's so annoying that to make a scratch animation you have to make a gazillion costumes? Well, I have an idea for a great scratch block.
With this block you only have to make TWO frames and the block does the rest. Something like this:Transition [sprite 1 v] [costume 1 v] to [sprite 1 v] [costume 2 v] and [smooth it out v]
Also, no support, just make a custom block.
'smooth it out' means make the animation look smooth.
also, I suck at custom blocks.

No Support. What if my costumes are a dog and an airplane? Also, with the way Scratch runs, this will look the same as they way it currently works.

Ok. But if the last drop down is keep it rough then it becomes identical to a normal costume switch, s I deem it not required sry, I meant a block like this:Transition [sprite 1 v] [costume 1 v] to [costume 2 v] and [smooth it out v]

Yeah, but to shorten the block, jut remove the “smooth it out” since it already says “Transition”Ok. But if the last drop down is keep it rough then it becomes identical to a normal costume switch, s I deem it not required sry, I meant a block like this:TC

I am still a bit confused.
How would you “transition” to a new sprite? Its not like a person walking can be animated with only 2 costumes. I would like a bit more information about that.

The block takes 2 diffrent frames, and fills the missing frames in.

Ok but what if I had a picture of an onion and a drawing of a person? It's not like Scratch would know what to animate for those two costumes.I am still a bit confused.
