It currently has no effect in the GUI because the editor always allows you to drag sprites around; maybe it works on scratch-vm?

Also, the layer blocks now let you select “forwards” (or “front”) instead of “backwards”/“back”:

go to [front v] :: looks
go to [back v] :: looks
go [forward v] (1) layers :: looks
go [backward v] (1) layers :: looks

The VM is now a 3.0 benchmarking tool.

I like to make drawings move elsewhere, but on here I do mainly coding experiments. Check them out if you want!

If y'all haven't seen, the ST just announced their partnership with Google to build Scratch Blocks, which according to the official announcement is going to be the framework for Scratch 3.0. There's also a bunch of other cool new things mentioned in the announcement as well.

Discuss!
I haven't heard about that, but seems exciting!

Now we just need
(turbo mode [on v]?::sensing)
and
turn turbo mode [on v]::sensing
and we'll be pretty much set!

I used to make stuff on here, now i just come on when i'm bored, don't expect anything from me now.

What about custom reporters, booleans, and c-blocks? What about pen text?

Yes, I'd much rather have custom reporters and booleans than turbo mode blocks.

Hopefully all those could be done with an extension if they end up not making it themselves

Yes, I'd much rather have custom reporters and booleans than turbo mode blocks.
Custom blocks that run without screen refresh basically let you do that anyway – it's kind of the structured programming answer to turbo mode

The custom block editor has a small dragging interface. This seems to point to a Snap! like custom block editor.

What do you prefer? Snap!'s custom blocks? Or Scratch's?

What parts of each do you like? Personally, I like how they can be categorized, and have their scripts in self contained windows. (not to mention reporters and whatnot)

Do you think that with scratch 3.0 there will be a whole overhaul of the editor? Similar to how in 1.0 scratch looked quite different.
