Scratch Wiki in Your Native Language (New)
I don't think you understand. This is how it works:Don't say you want to translate pages (this Wiki is only in English, we have other Wikis available for German, Russian, and Indonesian)We need the page first.
1) Say that “I want to contribute” which meant “I want to help once the wiki is made”. In the meantime, you could write articles for the future wiki on your own.
2) When enough peoples offered to contribute, the wiki will be set up, and then you can
3) Log in, translate, and do real edits

I am having trouble with translating a MediaWiki skin for Scratch-Indo-Wiki. I don't know how to add new buttons/links to the menu in the left. (e.g. Help, Community Portal) Do you have any idea on who or where should I ask?

Ask Scratch Team for Scratch website/wiki style (skin). I need it, too, so say me if you get it

@All:
Sorry for the weeks late reply. I was in Mexico and then had some tests to prep for, but now I'm back!
Edit: Macadam is and will be unavailable to help make the French Scratch Wiki. That brings us back down to 3 volunteers. Unless another French Wiki volunteer is found, the French Wiki cannot be made.
Edit: @jvvg replied that he thinks it's MediaWiki:Option, and then he linked me to this page: Sidebar
Also, don't forget to check out @LiFaytheGoblin's post above.

I'll add you to the list! I want to help with Polish wiki
I think unfortunately no, but I have to check to be 100% sure… Is it starting ?

That's all you needed to do; say you want to be an editor. I'll add you to the list. Ok - I can be editor, but how can i do it. I mean where and how, because there isn't Polish scratch wiki now…
@jvvg is definitely your person to ask. He's done lots of coding with the Scratch Wiki, so he should have lots of experience. I'll ask him right now for you. Thanks to both of you, that really helps
I thought the links must be included in the skin, and I was trying to figure out what code I should use ^^"
Again, thanks!

@ErnieParle You needn't to create our Wiki - we've got it already I've got only one question - can we got free domain on scratch.mit.edu? I can't find good domain, where I can install skin

Only the English Scratch Wiki uses the scratch.mit.edu domain International wikis are independent from the Scratch Team. The Indonesian, Russian, and Japanese wikis are sponsored very kindly by the DACH Scratch Wiki. You might want to contact them instead. (The contact details are in the first post of this topic.) @ErnieParle You needn't to create our Wiki - we've got it already I've got only one question - can we got free domain on scratch.mit.edu? Just wanted to tell you that a dutch wiki has been started some time ago. I didn't know about it until now, but maybe it should be added to the list

Does anyone know any free host, where can I make free wiki? We've got a host already, but here I can't change style. Or maybe host, where can I see all files and change them?

I can potentially help with the French wiki; I have been learning it for 12 years now and I consider myself fully fluent. I have very little experience editing wikis, however, so I can't say for sure how useful I'd be in that regard.

I'm sure you can learn how to edit a Wiki. If it helps, you could try getting an account on the English Wiki for practice (if you haven't already). If you say you know French very well, I'll add you to the list.
Okay, that makes for four French Scratch Wiki volunteers! I checked with KrIsMa, 1523394, and Hardmath123 just a month ago, and it seems like they are are still active to date. Of course you, @Code_Name_Geek, are still active because you just commented, that is unless an alien abducted you.
I will get around to posting the next step in creating the French Wiki soon (probably tomorrow, although I can't promise because it is a holiday).

I will be gone for about 3 weeks later in the month (family road trip with little to no wifi) but aside from that I'll be around a lot.

@French Wiki:
One of the requirements in making a Wiki is that one of the volunteers has Media Wiki experience. From what I know, @KrIsMa easily fills that requirement. So:
The second step in making a French Wiki is making a topic (in the French forums) where you talk using both French and English. This helps to show that everyone can use both languages well.
Also, it would be super helpful if in your topic you made some mock-up Wiki pages in French.
As an example, here's what the Indonesian Wiki did for step #2: Le Link
I'll leave it up to any French Wiki volunteer to make the topic, but whoever does it, please post the link here! Thank you.
@Code_Name_Geek:
It might be a problem if you're gone for three weeks while the Wiki is being created… we'll see.

I would like to do it! I learn French and Spanish at school, but unfortunately next year I'll probably be doing only Spanish. I often play the game Club Penguin in other languages, and I have made many online friends by doing so. I love to code and I would be happy to share my knowledge to other Scratchers who speak different languages. I have applied to help with the English Wiki, so I if I get in I can learn how to use the software you use to create the website.
Overall, I would like to help out with the French and Spanish Wiki's. Thanks!

You learned French and Spanish in school? That might be a small problem… When making an international Wiki, it's best to only have editors who actually know the language, not just some vocab words. So, do you have a project that uses French or Spanish, or maybe something that shows your skill in French or Spanish? I would like to do it!
