There is a "Share" Facebook icon, but Facebook Terms of Service indicate must be 13+

As per Facebook Terms of Service item 5 under “Registration and Account Security”

You will not use Facebook if you are under 13.

Yet there is a Facebook Icon when you click “Share”

Perhaps folks weren't aware of this.

FYI, thanks to Walter Bender from SugarLabs for pointing this out.

FYI, same is true for Google+ and YouTube http://support.google.com/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1350409

Interestingly I couldn't find anything on Twitter about age restrictions. I guess anyone can be a Twit and limit their speech to 140 characters

Yep, this is an interesting conundrum. Our site is for ages 8+, but really there is no restriction - and we have plenty of users who are over 13. Is there are a concern about offering a feature that can only be used by people who are above a certain age (according to FB TOU)? It might also be possible, and I suspect perfectly ok with facebook, for a parent to share something their kid made to FB via this functionality, right?

Meh.
It really doesn't matter; people under 13 will find their way on Facebook.

I've been listening to…
Ogre Battle // Queen // Queen II // Heavy Metal, Hard Rock, Progressive Metal
Orion // Metallica // Master of Puppets // Heavy Metal, Thrash Metal, Instrumental
Damage Inc. // Metallica// Master of Puppets // Thrash Metal, Heavy Metal
Snow (Hey Oh) // Red Hot Chilli Peppers // Snow (Hey Oh) // Soft Rock, Acoustic
Who Wants To Live Forever // Queen // A Kind of Magic // Power Ballad, Soft Rock
I suggest you listen to…
For a influential playlist: Damage Inc and Orion. Both of these songs are part of the album that revolutionized heavy and thrash metal forever.

That's what I thought

Unless the OP somehow believed this would be creating a FaceBook for the kid and encouraging illegal activity, I don't see any problem with those who can and want to being able to share things.

EDIT: Typo.

I think its fine and a really good idea to allow sharing via Facebook, Google+, Youtube etc. That's where the kids are and it will allow them to use Scratch to express themselves outside of the Scratch community (and hopefully bring more in).

I was simply curious how you were dealing with it as we face similar issues. Given the Scratch communities concern over protecting kids, I thought it would good to hear your perspective.

Thanks,
Stephen

Please stop necroposting in the oldest suggestions. The share feature doesn’t even exist anymore.

Fun_Cupcake_i81: What, were you expecting not to see the utc - 12 thing again? THE UTC - 12 THIGN ALWAYS RETURNS. ALWAYS.
medians: I knew it would happen. I was the one who started it last year.
Fun_Cupcake_i81: Well then if you didn't want it back maybe you need to time travel to last year and fix that

Oh wait if you could time travel I think we all know exactly when you would go-
