Recommended Projects
Hey guys!
I was thinking of a concept called Recommended Projects. Here's how it would work:
Based on tags of the project you are looking at, other projects tagged with the same tags would appear in the bar. If you also play lots of projects tagged with 'example' you would see projects tagged with 'example' and tags from the current project and so on in the section. Other filters would be keywords in the title (e.g. Car Game, “car” would be a keyword, and “game” would be excluded.) The section would be where the more by <user> bar is, and if people want to see projects in that category, there will be a button for that and vice versa.
It's actually pretty hard to find projects that aren't new or made by a user you already know. So…

I think it should be called “Reccommended Projects” instead.
If you mean that:
If you mean that:
- if you play lots of projects tagged with “mario”, other projects tagged with “mario” would appear in the bar
- if you also play lots of projects tagged with “sonic”, you would see both projects tagged with “mario” and “sonic”.
- and so on.

Or replace the hidden bottom bar (I only notice it once per month) with “Recommended Projects”
and support, though it should hide if no tags are given; maybe if we combine this with the Untitled projects reduction suggestion, the pop-up can also ask for the tags of the project, inducing more recommended projects.
And I'm assuming that this is an actual recommendation section, which means that it doesn't induce popularity for the infamous, but it only gives what is top-loved with the same tag.

I don't see a problem for this to be added. Plus, unknown Scratchers can get noticed.

No Support.
This would require not only a lot of work by the ST, but also tracking users and what they play, which is not something that Scratch should be doing and could be a violation of children's privacy protection laws if done wrong.

Semi support. It would be difficult for the team to do but it would help projects to get noticed and for users to find other users they might like.

No Support.semi support, the Scratch Team should not track children around the website, but if they found a way to get around this, I'm 100% down for it

Semi-support. It would be good to get smaller users noticed, but not all of them know about tags, and there is a tracking issue. Also, what about very original projects that don't really match any tags? This may promote stereotyping and project classing which i hate lol

This would be a nice idea if implemented, but there is a very common problem in scratch where users put unrelated tags in their projects (like the #tutorials tag on a game) or put random letters (like #a #b #c etc.), which would make the recommended projects bar not work the way you would expect.
