“you are a new user, so clouds vars are blocked for you … ”
This was not like that at the beginning of the cloud vars.
So this is another additional (sic !) restriction on cloud vars since the launch of Scratch 2.0
When am I a “non-new” user ? (Well, how to say that in English: on old user ?)
Or put it differently: how to become a “non-new” user ?
Seems that the number of months you created the account is not sufficient.
So, what ?
I want to create a test username for testing the cloud games. Nope. The test username (= me) is tagged as Scratch-baby …
I want my children and their friend to play with cloud “home-made” games instead of using cloud “money-made” games. Nope. They have to become grown-ups.
I created a simple basis so that 9 years old childeren can create new cloud-games.
And that is no longuer allowed for them to play with or modify or create …
It was possible at the early of Scratch 2.0
Any suggestion/help/info is welcome
For those who want to see this “basis” for simple cloud games that can be modified by children,
see http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/10089109.
No need to remix/like/… Just get your own copy if you want.
This is a very small program, easy to understand, because the idea was simply made into small steps:
1) just draw backgrounds for different games: 4 in a row, noughts and crosses, a crossword, …
2) allow for 2 different players to draw on the same “board”
This is very easy because you just have to pass the position x and y of 2 different spites used as “pencils”, then you pass also the commands “pen up”, “pen down”, “set pen color”, “clear screen”.
3) The player list is “coded” inside the game, so you just copy the game and modify to put hte name of your friend and invite it play.
The aim is not to build great arcade games of course …

To use cloud data, your account needs to be of Scratcher status.

Very likely, the account was still in the New Scratcher status. The reason that New Scratchers can't use cloud data is because of open chatrooms. Open chatrooms are not allowed for the fact that people can say mean things. So, unfortunately, you need to wait to become a scratcher (read the stickies in the New Scratchers forum for tips on how to become a Scratcher).

Thanks a lot for the pointer http://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/6986/
I was not aware about that.

Thanks all for your replies.
I'm upset with that because I wanted to set up a collaboration between my children and their friends.
I thought they could play in “network” very simple games (see http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/10089109.
).
But this is not possible.
Now, (on current holidays)I just found the following workaround: I invite one friend at a time and they play on the same keyboard.
Again thanks.
