I think the building system leans a bit towards the Hero Factory style but I personally like what they're doing and I really don't mind the story too much. It gives us two BIONICLE universes where we can create new adventures and stories.

I love the original BIONCLE series too, of course. That played an intricate role in my childhood (despite me never getting any BIONICLE sets until 2008 McDonalds Krika, followed by the official 2008 Mistika Gali set ).

to be honest i actually REALLY like hero factory and besides this first series of hero factory figures used bionicle pieces and plus the new series brings back the gear function so therefore in my opinion they are kinda equal especially the fact that early bionicle gen 1 used throwbot/slizer pieces

The remake and Bara Magna are fine in my eyes. The Stars not so much.
