OKAY! WE ARE STILL MISSING 4, BUT I WILL EXPLAIN THE PROJECT IN DETAIL.Ok.. my brain right now is really confused.. but I can help out! So you charge up and go on the movement path? I can help with variables and stuff.. But a few questions: How will we work on it together? When will we release it? I haven't really made any big projects before. I just make small ones that I make in 5-10 mins. My biggest project was my Minecraft project. Anyways, I can't wait! Cya around
THe game will be a puzzle platformer about life. Memories. The past. And the future.
The past is always part of you. But you have to step out of its way and outrun it to move on.
This first game requires A LOT of skill in cloning, variables, and physics (sort of).
The inspiration is http://armorgames.com/play/6525/ .
Let me first explain it to you.
You are the blue guy.
Clones (blue dots) follow you as you move.
Your movement charges the door to exit. only when it is charged can you progress.
As you move, however, the door you leave out of charges, and every so often (movement wise) releases a clone of YOU. A few dots in front of it specifies its movement path, and you have to avoid it, or else you start over.
The game will be dedicated to skruff because of what he had to go through in HIS past.
The game will be a big project, but it will turn out great. Cheers.
For now, I need a walking and running animation like the guy in the game. Who can do that?

Clones (blue dots) follow you as you move.
Your movement charges the door to exit. only when it is charged can you progress.

Uhm, I'm going to paraphrase; could you tell me if I got it right?:
You're a blue man standing in a room (or a maze). You want to get out of the room, but the door needs to be charged up before you can unlock it. You can produce energy when you move, and if you move around enough you will eventually produce enough to unlock the door. However, as you move around, the door will occasionally produce a phantom copy (like the ghost of a memory) of you*. You have to avoid getting near/touching your clone, otherwise you will lose all of the energy you collected to charge the door.
*It would make a bit of sense if we inferred that this phantom was a memory of you right when you began the level
…
I think it sounds even more confusing when I summarize it.

But is that what you meant? Did I leave anything out or get something wrong?

If you touch the phantom copies themselves you die and start over the level. The phantoms go away when that happens. Just play the game, guys.

Oh, I had no idea…Do I go up levels now, I followed everything? If you ask for your ranking to go up, It likely will go down. Don't. Find something to do that will benefit the Inc.

Okay guys. If you don't want to do the work yourself?
I posted http://youtu.be/DC-CHd0a9P4 On YouTube.
It's a walkthrough!
Not really, but it gives you 10 minutes of useful gameplay to study.

Well. Yeah. I guess.
I've practically finished rough character art, maybe the art team could pick it up from there, and then the animation team, then back to the simulation team, game team, and math team, who could all work together on various scripting???- Zaneki

Isn't the art team… the same as the animation team? There technically is no art division; I assumed that it was part of animations :SWouldn't walk cycles be part of the animation division?OKAY! WE ARE STILL MISSING 4, BUT I WILL EXPLAIN THE PROJECT IN DETAIL.

Yeah. I was bored… Nobody has to use it. I just thought I''d contribute. All it is is a frame of him standing still, and a frame of him in midair. They're pretty rough. The color isn't perfect, it's kinda blocky, the shapes are blobby(ish). There's definitely still lotsa work for the art team. They get to design the levels, make the finished characters, the game logo, etc. Here it is: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/13405088/

I analyzed the gameplay (http://youtu.be/DC-CHd0a9P4 was mine) and the thing is, there are 3 things hard to implement on Scratch.
1. Sliding down slopes?
2. The clones and particles stop when you stop.
3. Strange physics and key press detection (while playing I noticed)
However, remember that the game is just INSPIRATION.
