LS Inc. (Le Scratchers Incorporated) -- CALLING ALL SCRATCHERS, BE PART OF A REVOLUTION ---
…Was about to say. They may be more fun, but they're ineffective. Even if it seems a bit stringent, I think having a three-strikes system would get and keep everyone in shape. When the novelty of “points” wears off, no one will care about what they post anymore.that may be true, but for people like me at least, rankings are a lot funner than warnings, and scratch is supposed to make things fun right? Here's the problem, though. A lot of members are apathetic about the whole ranking system, myself included. I think a better idea would be to give warnings, and if a person got three or more warnings, they are booted from the collab. And they can have their number of warnings decreased / reset after a week or two of appropriate behavior.Followed the studio, and commented on the forum thread. :P
And, please, the spamming thing getting on my nerves. I have to agree with AlphaAxle.
I've been subtracting ranking points like crazy. I can't control it, you do know…
Plus, there are a lot of younger kids in this collab, and when one person starts spamming, it tends to snowball out of control.
True. How about i have both? BTW I don't think ANYONE would enjoy doing hard work and not getting credited.
It's technically plagiarism / theft if you don't credit someone. Even if one has spammed, it's a natural right to be credited for one's work.
It's not, actually. If they join, they agree to my terms, including crediting. And by that, I mean like their name will be on a list nobody reads, not like in a section of the game where the best workers are listed. It's the level of credit. If someone does a lot, they will have a level dedicated to them. Otherwise, since we know no one reads a 100 word notes and credits, their name will go there. If they don't do anything, which is a linear relationship to their maturity in these situations, they won't have credit and they will be kicked out.

HEEEELLLLLPPPPP!!!! I've been framed for spamming!!!!! DX
SOMEBODY HELP!!! Bluenunchuck has framed me for spamming!!!! PLEASE DO NOT COUNT THIS AS SPAMMING EITHER, BECAUSE THE FIRST TIME I SAID THIS WAS 20 MINUTES AGO, AND NOBODY HAS RESPONDED BUT PEOPLE HAVE JUST IGNORED ME AND WENT ON FORUM POSTING ABOUT OTHER THINGS… (that was long…)…Ironically enough, just by posting this, you're spamming. If you're not going to contribute to the discussion or ask a question, or otherwise post anything related to the collab, it would probably be considered spamming.
LeScratcher checks the thread often, by the way, so I'm sure he's seen your earlier post. No need to bring it up again.

Not necessarily a linear relationship. It's more of a bell curve. I know of several older scratchers who are, in fact, quite mature, but don't post often or do anything to actually help in a collab.…Was about to say. They may be more fun, but they're ineffective. @Zaneki: Okay…. But anywho, I do agree with your idea of warnings instead of ranking points. Ranking points label people, while warnings just enforce the rules. XD And I'm not just saying this because I lost ranking points by being framed…

Although I agree that this problem of spamming is indeed a real problem, recognizing the spammers/trollers are just giving them encouragement to continue posting lengthy posts of spam. I think that we have to ignore them, and the problem should resolve itself after a while. I also wish to get this problem over and done with ASAP, so we can start to do what this Collab was made for, making awesome problems.
To all the people who are spamming, please stop. You are preventing us from getting started on projects. From now on, please only post things that will help contribute to the overall success of this collab. We want to set a standard for what people can do when they come together on Scratch. If you are preventing us from doing this we will not hesitate to remove you from this group. We want the best of the best to help in this collab, and if you're spamming this forum, you are not the best of the best.

I think that we have to ignore them, and the problem should resolve itself after a while. I also wish to get this problem over and done with ASAP, so we can start to do what this Collab was made for, making awesome problems.I agree with your pretense, but by my logic your plan wouldn't work as well as you'd like.
To all the people who are spamming, please stop. You are preventing us from getting started on projects. We want the best of the best to help in this collab, and if you're spamming this forum, you are not the best of the best.
In a nutshell, the process of spamming goes like this:
1. One person posts, saying something that may be a bit off-topic or amusing
2. Another person replies to that post, either remarking on the humor or going further on a tangent by contributing to the offtopic elements
3. More and more people join in, and you get this huge-a chain of replies that are completely irrelevant to the collab
It starts with a comment, and spammers literally turn the thread into a discussion chain of their own. Ignorance won't solve it, I don't think.
