Support Buttons(New Idea/New Way)
I was reading the discussion on https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/173435/ and it inspired me to look at this topic at a different angle. I got the idea of a support button from them, but not how they could be implemented.
#1
In order to put support or no support on a post (maybe even semi-support?), you would click the corresponding button when you add a comment to the topic. There could be four button with them being support, semi-support, no support, and neutral. Neutral would allow for people to post on a topic without taking a stance. Scratcher status would be needed to vote to eliminate vote botting/duplicates on posts.
#2 (Optional)
With comments on topics being labeled with different tags, a system could be implemented to see the posts of people who support or don't support a topic. This would allow for a quick understanding of why people support a suggestion and why others don't
Why?
The supports and non-supports could easily be displayed at the top of the post. It would allow users to see how the current suggestion is being voted on without scrolling through many pages or the topic poster having to update the main post.

If you have a different idea about another topic, you can share it on that topic, instead of making another topic.

This topic got me thinking of the idea of a support button but it is a whole new idea / new way of looking at this type of topic for it doesn't really follow their idea that much also it would just be like me saying “I support you if you change your idea completely to my idea about support buttons” I just am giving credit to them for helping me come up with this way of looking at it If you have a different idea about another topic, you can share it on that topic, instead of making another topic.

I don't think I got credit.
Anyway, so I'm thinking about your idea like this. When you posted, the blue line that tells when you posted would also say “Support/No Support/Neutral/Semi-support” and then you would prove why in the comments section. Then at the top, there would be a count of how many people chose which button.
PROBLEM: Some people (me) like to respond to comments multiple times. How would that work? Would I press the button again to submit a comment? If so, then people could spam it. Also, I don't think that you should put a neutral button. If someone doesn't have an opinion, then they don't have an opinion; they can always go back to the main discussion page.

You would only get to submit a support message once and after that it would be normal. Also sometimes people don't have an opinion but still want to just throw something into the conversation and correct something or explain something better. One more thing I put the link to your forum because it was really reading the whole forum that helped me figure a potentially better way to do this PROBLEM: Some people (me) like to respond to comments multiple times. How would that work? Would I press the button again to submit a comment? If so, then people could spam it. Also, I don't think that you should put a neutral button. Quoting from the other post:
or even just the thing they clicked: “No support”, “Support”, “Semisupport” or just “no” The only problem with that is people would just type
“just cuz”
or
“ernyv5thaluegiwe7cawnesi6wyg5,dilcev8xtbrhxc84e6sv3”
or
“a”

Ok but people don't do that often now and when something new is added people aren't going to go crazy and just spam people for it already happens but how would this support that at all and also you have to type something in you for you cannot just click one of the buttons and submits Quoting from the other post:or even just the thing they clicked: “No support”, “Support”, “Semisupport” or just “no” The only problem with that is people would just type

Why did you bump an old post? The only problem is that if I submitted a suggestion, I could create alts and press the support button.

get bumped
sorry I just really had to post my opinion on this
No support. This would remove all constructiveness. Those are after all discussion forums, a place where you are supposed to discuss things. Even if we have to write down why we support or don't support, we could just spam, as others have mentioned earlier in this thread. Making a post where we state whether or not we support and explaining why with some valid points isn't after all that hard.

#2 (Optional)No support either. Just read the replies of a thread.
